Step 1. Revisin
Ask the students t tell their favurite TV prgrammes.
Step 2. Presentatin
There is a cmpetitin t write a stry fr a TV prgramme. Daniel and Simn have entered it. If they want t write well, they first need t knw the backgrund and the plt f the TV prgramme very well.
Step 3. Read & answer
Read the backgrund and the plt f the TV prgramme, then answer the fllwing questins:
1. Wh is the prgramme abut? (The Chen family)
2. Hw many peple are there in the Chen family? (Fur.)
3. Wh are they? (Nancy, Victr and their parents.)
4. D the children get alng well? (N, they disagree all the time.)
5. What did Nancy and Victr argue abut? (What TV prgrammes t watch.)
6. What happened t the remte cntrl? (Victr threw it int the table and it fell nt
Nancy’s ft.)
Step 4. Practice
Ask the students t read the beginning f the stry in part A2 n page 73, then cmplete it using infrmatin frm the utline in part A1.

Step 5. Extensin activity
Ask a few students what they think will happen next in the stry. Ask them what they wud d if they were the characters. Tell students t discuss these questins in pairs. Encurage them t discuss freely s that the stry can develp imaginatively.
Step 6. Presentatin
If yu all enter the cmpetitint write a stry fr a TV prgramme. First, yu have t think f an idea fr a TV prgramme. Yu shuld think abut where the prgramme takes place, the characters in the stry and the persnalities and favurite activities f the characters.
Step 7. Practice
Yu are als interested in writing yur wn TV prgramme fr a writing cmpetitin. Wrk in pairs t cmplete the plan n page 74, then write an utline f the stry befre writing the prgramme. There are n right r wrng answers here. Yu can chse whichever categries yu like and use yur imaginatins t develp the plt. Yu can think independently, rather than cpying the utline n page 73.
Step 8. Writing
When the students have agreed n their utline, encurage them t discuss the plt f their TV prgrammes. Then ask students t write a stry fr their prgramme using the place and characters in their utline.
