Step 1. Revisin
D the fllwing translatins rally:

Step 2. Presentatin
Hw is the weather? Hw are yu? What’s yur feeling? Our feelings are always
influenced by the weather and thers. Have yu realize this? Shw the phts ne by ne.
1. He is happy / jyful. He is full f happiness / jy.
2. He lks strng / pwerful.
3. He is very sad / unhappy. He is full f sadness / unhappiness.
4. He gets full marks. S he lks very cntented. He is satisfied with his marks. What will he d after he gets hme with the full marks? Maybe he’ll require t relax himself first.

We knw range represents jy, we als can say range represents happiness. ‘jy’ and
‘happiness’ are synnyms. That means tw different wrds mean the same r nearly the same
thing.
Can yu shw me mre synnyms. (Ask the students t say as many synnyms as pssible.)

1. Millie fund a wrd game. She needs t rearrange the letters n the right t frm synnyms f
the wrds n the left. Help her put the letters in the crrect rder. Finish exercise part A n page
26.
2. Kitty has als fund a synnyms wheel. On the ppsite side f each wrds, write its synnyms. Help her cmplete part B n page 26.
Step 4. Extensin activity
Explain that the ppsite f a synnyms is an antnym. Antnyms have the ppsite meaning f a wrd.
Fr strnger classes, ask the students t use the antnyms t make tw sentences.
