教学过程
Step 1 Warming- up and revisin
(1) Daily greeting.
(2) Check the hmewrk. Let sme Ss read ut their descriptins and let ther Ss guess what animal it is.
Step 2 Presentatin
1. Shw sme pictures n the big screen and teach Ss the new wrds. e.g.
Shw a picture f a shy girl, let Ss knw she's shy.
2. Let Ss read alud the wrds and expressins.
3. Give Ss sme time and read alud the wrds.
1. Pay attentin t the animals in the picture in 1a and ask a student t say the name f each ne.
5. Pint ut the list f eight numbered adjectives belw.
T: Nw please match the adjectives with the animals in the picture. Write the letter f the animal n the line after the adjective. Pint ut the sample answer.
6. As students wrk, mve arund the rm ffering t answer questins as needed. Crrect the answers.
Step 3 Listening
Wrk n 1b:
1. T: Nw I will play a recrding f a cnversatin between Tny and Maria. This time circle the adjectives yu bear n the list fr la.
2. Ss listen and try t circle the adjectives in 1a.
3. Play the recrding again fr the Ss t check the answers.
Wrk n 1c:
1. Call attentin t the three headings. Animal, Maria's Wrds and Tny's Wrds, and the write-n lines under each.
2. Say, Nw I will play the recrding again. This time please write the name f the animals each persn talks abut and the wrds they say.
3. Play the first fur lines f recrding and stp the tape. Ask, What animal are they talking abut? What wrds des Mary use t describe the elephant?
Pint ut the write-n lines where students can write these wrds.
4. Play the whle recrding and have students write the wrds they hear n the chart. Check the answers.
Step 4 Pairwrk
1. Call attentin t the dialgue next t the picture. Ask tw students t read it t the class.
2. Say, Wrk in pairs. Use sentences like these t say what yu think abut different animals.
3. Ss wrk in pairs t make their wn cnversatins. As they wrk, mve arund the rm checking n prgress.
4. Ask sme pairs t present their cnversatins t the class.
Step 5 Thinking
1. T: Nw there are many animals are in danger in the wrld. Why? One reasn is that men cuts dwn t many trees s animal are lsing their hmes.
2. Lk at the chart belw. What animals d yu think are in great danger? Discuss with yur grup members and check the animals.
3. Let sme Ss read their answers.

Shw sme pictures n the big screen. Teach Ss sme main wrds and expressins in the passage in 2b. e.g. save, symbl, flag, frget, place, water, be in great danger, cut dwn, tree, kill, ivry…
Ss read and understand the new wrds and expressins.
1. Fast reading
T: Nw, read the passage quickly and find the answer t this questin:

Ss read the passage quickly and try t find the answer t this questin.
Check the answers.
2. Careful reading
T: Nw read the passage again and find the answers t these questins (n the big screen):

③ Why are elephants in great danger?
④ What's the best title fr this article? (check)
Ss read the questins first. Then read the passage again and find the answers t the questins. Check the answers with the class.
3. Tell the students t lk at the map in 2c. There are fur bx arund the wrd "Elephant". The first bx is abut the imprtance f the elephants in Thailand. The secnd bx is abut the abilities f the elephants. The third bx is abut the facts and figures f the elephants. The last bx is abut hw t save the elephants. Let's read the passage again and fill in the blanks.
4. Ss read the article and fill in the blanks in the map. Check the answers with the Ss.
