Phase Tw: Pre- Cmpetitin
The first phase f cmpetitin begins n 15 Nvember 2024.In this phase, yur team will be able t use the game sftware and begin t make yur plan t run the cmpany.
Phase Three: Cmpetitin
This is when things start t get real.
On 24 Nvember 2024 the first rund f data will be shwn t all teams and yu’ll have a week t make yur decisins and hand them in fr scring.
After each rund yu’ll get a scre and yu’ll be graded against ther teams based n this. We call this stage "The Early Years" as yu begin t get yur virtual cnstructin cmpany ff the grund.

In my 4 years f graduate schl, I — like many Ph. D. students — have becme well familiar with varius surces f stress, such as pressure frm deadlines, backaches frm desk wrk, and rejectin frm prfessrs and jurnals. I culdn’t feel the appeal frm the campus life and seldm saw cntent lks frm the prfessrs.
Fr the first year and a half, I tried t manage the stress by fllwing the traditinal wisdm: get sme exercise, get enugh sleep, and maintain a health y wrk-life balance. But this nly helps during the least stressful times.
I’m a lifelng nvelty seeker. This hasn’t always served me well. But in my secnd year f graduate schl, it came t my rescue. The pressure t pass my qualifying exam was munting, I was wired with nervus energy, and I needed sme kind f release. S, I invited ne f my fellw graduate students t cme swimming with me — in a river, in the middle f winter, by jumping ff a cliff.
The mment I jumped int the water, I immediately felt a surge f energy and fear. When I surfaced (浮出水面), I was ttally energized. My brain was temprarily rewired. I felt capable f anything. Fr the rest f the day, I felt calm and attentive.
And s it became ur weekly rutine. Thrughut the winter mre students jined in, and even a prfessr. Made f thin cttn and sewed tgether in nly 20 minutes, an experimental pair f glves isn’t particularly fashinable r useful fr keeping anyne’s hands warm. Instead, they are used fr an entirely different purpse: teaching pian.
In a study, Massachusetts Institute f Technlgy graduate student Yiyue Lu and her clleagues created these "smart glves" using advanced technlgy, which includes physical sensatins such as vibratin (震动) r frce t help with learning activities. Researchers used the glves t recrd ne pianist’s hand mvements while playing a sng. They then relayed thse mvements t a student thrugh fingertip vibratins, helping the learner build muscle memry and perfrm the piece with greater precisin.
"Hand-based mvements like pian playing are nrmally really subjective and difficult t recrd and transfer," Lu says. "But with these glves we are actually able t track a pian teacher’s tuch experience and share it with anther persn t imprve their tactile (触觉的) learning prcess."
Using a cmputerized sewing machine, the team wve (织入) small wires linked t a pressure-sensing material in the glves t detect hand mtins. When a pian teacher wearing the glves repeatedly perfrmed a tune, a machine-learning algrithm(算法) prcessed their mvement n the keys and translated it int instructinal vibratins. Students wearing their wn glves then attempted t play the same tune, with the fingertip vibratins guiding them thrugh prper mvements.
