    ( Teaching material analysis)
    As fr the grammar sectin, students will be led t review the passive vice. They will intrduce briefly Aesp’s Fables and then describe pictures given in Activity 3 using the passive vice,which aims t help students cnslidate the use f this grammatical item in sme real cntext.
    In the vcabulary learning part, students will be guided t read and understand sme prverbs abut life. In additin, students will further develp their listening ability by listening and cmmunicating with each ther. By cnduct an efficient cmprehensive training, students are expected t better understand the theme f this unit and imprve students' capacity fr applicatin twards target language.
    (Teaching bjectives & Cre Cmpetencies and Values fr students)
    1. Guide the students t crrectly use the passive vice accrding t the cntext.
    2. Lead the students t learn sme prverbs abut life and use them t express themselves in different situatins.
    3. Help the students enhance their listening ability. In the listening activity, the students are expected t understand the main idea f the listening material
    4. Guide the students t share his r her life experiences and give sme advice r cmments, .
    (Teaching fcuses)
    1. Guide the students t crrectly use prper tenses in the real cntext.
    2. Lead the students t talk abut their chices and decisins and make cmmunicatin with partners.
    3. Help the students imprve the listening ability t get the main idea f the interview abut an ld man’s life stry.
    4. Have the students use their experiences t illustrate the understanding f the prverbs learned in class.
    (Teaching prcedure)
    Step 1 Review the passive vice
    Activity 1 Review the rule and the basic structures f the passive vice.
    1. Have students learn t crrectly chse the passive vice in real cntexts.
    2. Guide students t crrectly use the basic structures passive vice, especially pay attentin t learn right frms in different tenses.
    Step 2 Practice Activity 2, Activity 3 &Activity 4
    Activity 2
    Guide the students t rewrite the paragraph abut Aesp’s Fables, which helps students better master the usage f the grammar items and knw mre abut the cllectin f stries.
    Activity 3
    1. Students lk at the fur pictures and describe the stry abut a lin and a muse frm Aesp’s Fables.
    2. Write the stry using the passive vice where apprpriate and share it with the class.
    Activity 4
    Wrk in pairs. Share anther fable yu have knwn and the lessn yu have learned frm it. Use the passive where apprpriate.
    Step 3 Befre listening
    Fcus n vcabulary-- “prverbs abut life”
    1. Read the prverbs abut life given and wrk ut what the prverbs means.
    2. Have students find Chinese prverbs with similar meanings.
    Step 4 Listen and talk abut prverbs abut life
    Activity 5, Activity 6 & Activity 7
    1. Students listen fr the first time and cmplete the cnversatins n Page 18.
    2. Listen again and check their answer befre the class are given reference answers.
    3. Match the prverbs in Activity 5 t their meanings.
    4. Wrk in pairs. Think f ther situatins t which the prverbs can be applied.
    Step 5 Listen t the interview and talk abut experiences
    Activity 8, Activity 9 & Activity 10
    1. Have students chse the best headline after listening t the interview with Janet Rse.

    2. Listen again and cmplete the ntes f the interview and then talk abut what he r she can learn frm Janet’s stry.
    3. Have sme students share his r her wn life stry r persnal experiences t illustrate the understanding f the prverbs. Listeners then make cmments abut it.
    Step 6: Language appreciatin
    1. Recently, there has been an increase in the number f mature students ging t university after wrking fr a few r many years.
