It’s difficult fr them t infer the implied meaning behind the lines and they lack a deep insight int this tpic. Thus, in this class, the teaching aims are designed as fllw:
    1. T knw abut the authr’s experiences with different Chinese cuisines and t figure ut the cultural cnntatins that he reflects thrugh analyzing and appreciating the language and details.
    2. T understand the cnnectin between fd and cuisine.

    Step1: Lead-In (5mins)
    Talk abut a 1,000-persn-Lng-Table Banquet in the Mia Stckade Village

    Q: When and where d yu think it was taken?
    Q: What are the different levels in the qute ?
    Q: What’s YOUR pinin abut the relatinship between them?
    (Aims: t imprt the tpic and ffer certain backgrund infrmatin abut the relatinship between fd and culture and prepare fr reading)
    Step2: Reading (25mins)
    1. Read fr main idea
    Analyze the structure and main idea fr each part.
    2. Read fr details
    Para.1 (tpic: yu are what yu eat)

    Para.2-Para.6 (bdy: my different experiences with Chinese cuisines)
    Take Para.2 as an example t help the students knw what the authr writes and what he intends t cnvey and appreciate and analyze the language and techniques in his descriptin.
