    I was recently asked what inspires me mst. That was easy t answer: I_live_and_breathe_track_and_field. It is the nly sprt that has allwed me t spread my wings and truly fly. I have struggled a lt in my life after being diagnsed(诊断) with a learning disability at the age f three. I was als brn fur mnths t early, weighing less than fur punds. Even at 17, I'm still wrking t catch up. Mentally I'm n the level f a 12­year­ld. I had t repeat the third and fifth grade, which caused me a lt f stress and embarrassment.
    I was jked s much that I wuld ften hide in the bathrm instead f ging t class. My parents always gave me lts f lve and supprt, but I still felt wrthless mst f the time. I'm als quite shy, s making and keeping friends has always been a challenge.
    Then ne day when I was 12, my life changed frever, My parents decided my yunger brther and I shuld try track. Frm that mment n my life was different. I was a natural mid­distance runner. When I was n the track, the ther kids just saw me and my speed. N ne saw my learning disability. Fr the first time in my life I felt nrmal.
    When I entered high schl, I jined the track team and the cach quickly saw my talent. I was selected t run n the A team fr crss­cunty and the A team fr indr and utdr track. I'm n the schl team fr the 4×400­meter and 4×800­meter relays, and clleges are even interested in me!
    My crss­cunty team wn the 2011 Cunty and Reginal Champinship. When I accepted my award, my mm cried because she was s prud f me, and fr nce, I was prud f myself.
    Even thugh I'm a special­educatin student, I nw knw that my learning disability des nt define(限定) me. I can hld my head up high because track has allwed me t spread my wings and truly fly!

    The basic science is a cmbinatin f thught and experiment called the scientific methd. Because much f science is hands­n, it attracts mst children. Nthing makes a child sit up and take ntice like the “WOW!” f a great science shwing.
    Science pens drs t many subjects at schl. Building lve fr science can be helpful in ther areas f study. Fr example, ne cannt lve science fr very lng withut becming gd at its language — math! S science encurages children t study math. An interest in science is an interest in hw things were nce understd cmpared t hw they are understd nw. Thus studying science lends itself easily t studying histry. And after yu d an experiment, yu need t write a lab reprt. Therefre, writing becmes an imprtant part f science.
    Science is the basic thing fr much f ur life. The science f farming shws hw ur fd is prduced; bimedical science keeps us healthy; even ur beds these days are designed accrding t scientific facts. We almst eat, sleep and breathe with the help f science! When we prepare the next generatin (一代) f vters, creatrs, and plicy makers, it is imprtant t make sure they are nt nly cmfrtable but als gd at science.

    Althugh I had wanted t quit smking, I never made up my mind until New Year's Day last year. I was having a terrible headache. I knew it was time t quit.
    Searching fr methds t quit smking n the Internet is like searching fr weight lss tips — there are thusands f different ways that are said t be the best, but nt all are right fr yu. One apprach that did draw my interest was apps. Alng with cigarettes (烟), my phne was the nly ther thing I culdn't leave my apartment withut.
    There are hundreds f apps fr quitting smking. I dwnladed an app called QuitIt because it was said t be gd. It was free and didn't cst much time as sme thers. Yu input the amunt f cigarettes yu smke, the cst per pack and the time yu decide t quit smking. The app des the math and then gives yu infrmatin based n the infrmatin given by yu. It tracks the amunt f time since yu decided t quit, the mney yu've saved, and the danger yu've avided. The app als includes a number f health gals.
    Quitting smking was ne f the hardest things I've ever had t d. Like mst stries f quitting, I did get a little sick and I felt terrible, but the mst difficult part was the empty feeling I was left with. Any time I felt like a cigarette, I wuld pen the app and track the prgress I had made. If I wanted t smke while I was n the cmputer, I'd immediately g t r/stpsmking t read a success stry, r t ffer supprt t smene else having a harder time than me.
    I quit smking 1 year 2 mnths and 27 days ag. I did nt smke 6,771 cigarettes and saved $4,062.84.

    Susan culdn't help it. She and her friends began lunch with cheese. Then they ate cheeseburgers and drank milk. Things seemed fine, but then suddenly Susan's stmach started making nise.     Our bdy uses lactase (乳糖酵素) t break lactse int a simpler frm f sugar. Once lactse is brken dwn, it's easy t digest and it prvides great energy fr the bdy. But peple like Susan dn't have enugh lactase t break dwn all the lactse they take in. S, abut half an hur t tw hurs after eating dairy­rich fds, their stmachs begin t hurt and they have gas, making their stmachs get bigger. Smetimes they even get diarrhea (腹泻) when they eat t many dairy fds.
    S hw can smene living with this prblem still eat ut with his r her friends? Here are sme tips. If yu're ging t eat a dairy­rich fd like ice cream, eat smething that desn't have any dairy with it, like a salad r a sandwich withut cheese. This will help slw digestin, and yur bdy will have time t create mre lactase.
