    New discveries at the Sanxingdui Ruins site in Guanghan, Sichuan Prvince drew the wrld’s attentin. On March 20, Chinese archaclgists (考古学家) annunced that they had fund mre than 500 cultural relics (文物) in six new pits at the site, dating back abut 3,000 years.
    S far, archaelgists have unearthed (发掘) different imprtant cultural relics frm fur f the pits, including pieces f gld masks, gld fil (箔),brnze masks, brnze trees and large numbers f ivries. In 1986, a large number f cultural relics were discvered in N.1 and N.2 pits.
    The Sanxingdui Ruins, which were first discvered in 1929, are believed t be the remains f the ancient Shu Kingdm. The kingdm was a center f civilizatin (文明) alng the upper reaches f Yangtze River.
    The discvery f Sanxingdui raised an imprtant questin abut the rigins (起源) f Chinese civilizatin. The ancient Shu civilizatin that built Sanxingdui is believed t be ne f the earliest examples f Chinese civilizatin.
