Tgether with his students and cllabratrs, Prfessr Keysar has made discveries abut the impact f using a freign language n chice, the way that language mdality affects reasning, hw language affects health decisins and negtiatins, and mre. In a 2021study, Baz Keysar, a prfessr at the University f Chicag in the US, led an experiment cncerning hw freign languages relate t human ways f thinking.
Whereas peple were risk averse fr gains and risk seeking fr lsses when chices were presented in their native tngue, they were nt influenced by this framing manipulatin in a freign language. Peple were asked t make a chice: Take a guarantee f ne pund r take a 50 percent chance f winning 2.50 punds.
