Felix “Andarin” Carvajal was a brn runner. As a by, he spent his childhd running up and dwn nearby hills. Years later, as a pstman, Carvajal became well-knwn in the city f Havana, and finally, he began t put his fame t use fr dnatins, s he might represent Cuba as a marathn runner at the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Luis, Missuri. A new study has fund that many drivers using driver assistance (辅助) tls ften treat their vehicles like they are fully self-driving. The study warns that drivers wh put t much trust in driver assistance technlgies are putting themselves at risk fr serius accidents.
The research invlved drivers f three vehicles that ffer advanced driver assistance systems. Each vehicle came frm ne f three cmpanies: Cadillac, Nissan / Infiniti and Tesla.
The study was led by the Insurance Institute fr Highway Safety (IIHS), a nnprfit grup. The grup carries ut research and crash tests and seeks t persuade car makers t design safer vehicles.
Cadillac’s driver assistance tl is called Super Cruise. The study fund that 53 percent f active users f that system said “they were cmfrtable treating their vehicles as fully self-driving.” Tesla’s driver assistance system is called Autpilt.
The results cme even as car makers have repeatedly warned drivers that they must never fully depend n driver assistance fr full peratin f the vehicle.
