    Over six years, the cgnitive scres decreased at a slwer rate in pet wners. This difference was strnger amng lng-term pet wners. Cnsidering ther factrs knwn t affect cgnitive functin, the study shwed that lng-term pet wners usually had a higher cgnitive scre cmpared t nn-pet wners. The researchers als fund that the cgnitive benefits cnnected with lnger pet wnership were strnger fr cllege educated adults and men.
    “As stress can negatively affect cgnitive functin, the pssible stress-reducing effects f pet wnership culd prvide a prper reasn fr ur findings,” said Braley.
