Prfessr Zhu is nicknamed “ptat schlar”. Brn int a family f farmers in Yunnan, Zhu said he has an attachment t the land. Since 2016, Zhu's team has prmted agricultural science in Lancang, Yunnan Prvince.
Zhu said farmers in the area nly planted rice nce a year. After the harvest, the rice fields stayed unused fr the entire winter. In 2016, his team launched a pilt prgram, which was used t test the idea f grwing a lateseasn ptat crp.
