    I first realized that plastic was a serius matter fr ur planet during my travel in Western Australia.     Pleasantn Partnerships in Educatin Fundatin (PPIE) was started in 1987 t raise mney by rganizing running events fr lcal schls. Based in Pleasantn, Califrnia, a suburb f San Francisc, the nn-prfit rganizatin recently hsted a family-fcused fitness event fr the cmmunity. “Our event helps t bring the cmmunity tgether,” said Mindy Luie, events and utreach manager fr PPIE. “We have mre than 3,000 participants, hardwrking vlunteers and viewers.”
