The Washingtn State Auditr (WSA) fund in 2017 that gd jbs in the skilled trades were ging begging because mst high schl students g fr bachelr’s degrees. It’s still true in Washingtn State and arund the cuntry. Amng ther things, the WSA suggested that career guidance (就业指导), including chices that require less than fur years in cllege, start as early as the seventh grade.

Yet the march t bachelr’s degrees cntinues. “There’s a belief that the bachelr’s degree is the American dream,” said Kate Kreamer, an expert in career and technical educatin. “The challenge is that smetimes the degree might keep students frm getting jbs. A grup f scientists recently set ut t get thse numbers. T d that, they wrked with the Wrld Wildlife Fund (WWF) based in Switzerland, and the Zlgical Sciety f Lndn in England. The team studied mre than 38,000 ppulatins f animals. These included mre than 5,000 species. The new study lked fr changes in the ppulatin size f all grups between 1970 and 2018.
The study fund that the ppulatin has drpped by 69 percent. “It tells us that we need t d smething abut falling ppulatins arund the wrld,” says Rebecca Shaw, a scientist at the WWF’s ffice in New Yrk City. The team published (发布) its finding in Octber. Its numbers were part f WWF’s Living Planet Reprt.
