Scientists have develped a way t read minds, translating unspken thughts int written wrds. It’s the first time it’s been dne withut having t put anything int the brain. They used artificial intelligence (AI) (人工智能). It is the name given t a cmputer system that is able t “think” fr itself and carry ut tasks that usually require human intelligence.
Scientists used a special scanner (扫描器). The machine can see where bld runs, which shws the parts f the brain that are mst active. Peple taking part in the experiment (实验) listened t the radi fr 16 hurs as their brains were scanned. The AI tl learned t cnnect certain brain activity with wrds they heard. After that, each persn was asked t think f a stry, and the AI tl managed t pick up these thughts as they happened.
The results had abut a 50% accuracy rate (准确率), althugh the AI fund it hard t wrk ut the meaning f prnuns, such as he r she, her r him. Fr example, it turned “I dn’t have my driver’s license yet” int “She has nt even started t learn t drive yet.” It culd usually understand the meaning f what smene was thinking rather than the exact wrds.
