By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
- Get the right pronunciation of the words: plus minus zero
- know the new structures.
How much is three plus four? Three plus four is seven.
How much is four minus three? Four minus three is one.
Ability Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1.Represent addition and subtraction with objects, fingers, metal images and so on.
2.Solve addition and subtraction word problems, and add and subtract within 10.
Affective and thinking quality Objectives:
1.Students will be more interested in learning English.
2.Students will try to think more critically.

Know how to express addition and subtraction in English.

Know how to add and subtract within 10 in real situation.
【Teaching Procedures】
Step 1 Warm-up
- Greetings
T: Hello, boys and girls.
Ss: Hello, Miss Tong.
T:What’s your name?
S1:My name is ....
(设计意图:与学生进行简单交流,拉近与学生的距离,消除学生上课的紧张感。)
- Meet the castle.
T: Today we will visit a castle. It has four floors. In each floor, you have to do a task. You can get a reward after doing the task.
Ss: OK.
(设计意图:引入数字城堡,增强课堂的情境性,在城堡里面的每一层设置本节课的任务,完成任务并接受奖励。)
Step 2 Presentation
- 引入zero
T:Numbers are also in our life. Let’s look at some examples.
T:When you are ill. You can call 120. one two zero.
T:Zero. Follow me, zero.
(设计意图:从生活中的数字引入0,拉近课堂与生活的距离,增添学习的实用性。)
2.学习plus,以及加法句子的英文表达。
T: Here is two, here is three. How much is in total?
Ss: Five.
T: Look, here are three trees. Here are two trees. How many in total?
T:Yes. It’s five. So three plus two is five.
T:Follow me, plus, plus, plus.
T: Look, how much is two plus four?
Ss: Two plus four is six.
T: Look, how much is five plus three?
Ss:Five plus three is eight.
(设计意图:引入数字小帮手“加号”,使用图片帮助学生理解,在重复中练习问句和答句。)
T:Look at your lucky number. How much is four plus one?
Ss:Four plus one is five.
S1: How much is six plus three?
Ss:Six plus three is nine.
S2:How much is seven plus three?
Ss:Seven plus three is ten.
......
(设计意图:使用学生头上的幸运数字,练习加法的英语表达,教师先示范,然后生生互问互答,幸运数字的使用,大大增强了课堂的有趣性。)
- 学习minus,学习减法的英文表达法。
T: On the left, there are five trees and four trees. On the right there is only one tree. I need a assistant to make it equal. Can i use plus?
Ss:减号,可以使用减号。
T:Your math is so good. Yes, i need a minus.
T:Follow me. Minus minus minus.
T:So how much is five minus four?
Ss: Five minus four is one.
(设计意图:利用数学中倒推的方式引入减法。调动学生的逻辑思维,促进学科之间的融合。)
T:Use your books, pencils to make equations.
(设计意图:给学生时间,使用自己的书本、铅笔等文具摆出减法算式,互相讨论说出问句和答句。)
Step 3 Production
Make your own castle.
Use the numbers to build your own castle. Each floor has an equation. The number of each equation should be the same.
Step 4 Homework
- Listen and read the sentences.
- Solve more story problems in English.
