01.We use water to clean things. 我们使用水洗东西 （教材P68）

  use sth to do sth使用某物做某事.  如：

We use wood to make chairs.我们用木头做椅子。

We use cups to drink water. 我们用杯子喝水。

use sth. to do sth. = do sth. with .

如：We use wood to make chairs.=We make chairs with wood.

We use cups to drink water.= We drink water with cups.

同样，我们也可以说：reuse sth to do sth.  再利用某物做某事。例如：

I can reuse paper to make a box.  我能再利用纸来做一只盒子。

I can reuse a plastic bottle to make a toy.  我能再利用一只塑料瓶做一玩具。

02. We should save water. 我们应该节约水。（教材P68）

  We shouldn’t waste water.我们不应浪费水。

情态动词should表示“应该”，shouldn’t表示“不应该”。其后要跟动词原形。例如：

We shouldn’t play football in the street. 我们不应该在街上踢足球。

You should get up early.  你应该早点起床。

03. Most of our energy comes from coal and oil.我们大多数能源来自煤炭和石油。（教材P68）

  come from 的意思是“来自”，它相当于be from。例如：

Jack comes from the US.= Jack is from the US.杰克来自美国

Where are you from? = Where do you come from?  你从哪儿来？

注意本句话中 “energy, coal, oil”都是不可数名词

04. We should not drive so much because cars use a lot of energy.我们不应该开车那么多因为车用很少能源。 （教材P68）

注意：此句话中的so much 是副词， 修饰动词drive ， 如： eat much 吃得多， read much 读得多， know much 懂得多。但是 so many 后面必须加可数名词复数， 不能修饰动词。 如： so many friends , so many people , so many cakes

而so much 也可以加不可数名词 如：so much bread, so much homework , so much oil

05. We use wood to make tables, chairs and many other things. 我们用木头做桌子， 椅子和许多其他的东西。（教材P69）

many other +可数名词复数形式 如： many other countries. ,many other subjects., many other books……

06. We should not cut down too many trees.我们不应该砍太多树木。（教材P69）

Cut down :砍伐  write…down 把。。。写下  ， put down 放下

07. Too much plastic is bad for the Earth. 太多的塑料对地球有害。（教材P69）

be bad for…对……有害，对……不好，相反的就是be good for...对……有好处

08. We should not use too many plastic bags or bottles.我们不应该用太多塑料袋和塑料瓶。（教材P69）

too much +不可数名词 ， too many +可数名词

plastic 是不可数名词， 而 plastic bag 塑料袋四可数名词

09. Let’s make a poster and tell them about it.让我们做张海报告诉他们关于它。（教材P74）

tell sb about sth的意思是：告诉某人有关某事，例如：

The teacher is telling the students about the Earth.  老师正在告诉学生有关地球的知识。

Did you tell him about the party?  你把聚会的事情告诉他了吗？

10.Sam starts drawing. 萨姆开始画画。（教材P74）

Start doing sth.=start to do sth. 开始做某事 如：

Start reading =start to read 开始阅读 start drawing=start to draw

11. Let me draw some bananas on the trees.  让我在树上画一些香蕉。

on the tree 在树上。强调是长在树上。如果要表示外来物在树上则用in the tree。例如：

Look, there is a kite in the tree.  看，树上有一只风筝。

Can you pick the oranges on the tree?  你能摘到树上的橘子吗？
