(1)解析:选C 根据下句“He knows what he wants”可知男人购物时,他们要买的东西预先(in advance)就决定好了。 be based on“基于……”;be relied on“被依赖”。(14)解析:选A 根据后半句中的“willing to try on any number of things”可知,女士总是乐于接受(be open to)劝导。 (5)【解析】选A。 根据第二段第一句中的“...thought to have been built around 4,500 years ago. ” 和第二段第三句中的which is believed to have been completed 3,500 years ago”可知,超级巨石阵比巨石阵早了1000年。
根据第二段中的“... is the largest surviving stone monument... that has ever been discovered in Britain and possibly in Europe” 可知,C项与题意相符。
根据画线词前面的“Some of the stones are thought to have stood 15 feet tall before they were..."
根据文章第一段中的“...may have had a brother. A much bigger, older brother. 4.参考答案:第二句:much→many第三句:had→has第四句:spoken后加by第五句:a→the第六句:去掉but; translating→translated第七句:twenty→twentieth; that→which第八句:language→languages; effectively→effective 5.【参考范文】The boxoffice income of Chinese movies witnessed a constant increase from about 17 billion yuan in 2012 to over 40 billion in 2015. However, that increase slowed down in 2016.The reasons behind this are various. The fast economic development before 2016 was probably the most powerful engine driving the constant growth in the boxoffice income. The application of new technologies and the wide appeal of movie stars could also account for the increase. However, China saw a decline in its economic growth rate last year. And the Internet increased options for movie lovers. Consequently, some viewers began to turn away from cinemas, leading to a slower growth.China's economy is expected to grow at a medium speed in the coming years, so an increase is possible in the investment in the movie industry and the number of quality movies. Therefore, its boxoffice income will probably enjoy a slight increase.
