    Knowledge aims:

    1. Words and phrases:centimeter(cm),weigh,birth,at birth,up to,adult.

    2. Finish the listening tasks in this class.

    Ability aims:

    1.To train students`listening skills2. To improve the students`ability of using of the target language and the grammar.

    Emotional aims: Tell the students,“Animals are our good friends ,we should try to protect them”.

    Teaching main and difficult points:

    Teaching main points:

    1.Make our students know something about pandas by finishing the listening tasks    in this class.

    Teaching difficult points:To improve our students` ability of using the language by finishing the tasks in this class.

    Teaching preparation:

    Teaching aids: PPT, a point reading machine.

    The teaching procedures:

    Step 1 Revision

    Ask the students to talk about something about pandas.

    Step 2 A short reading about the elephants and pandas:

    1. Get the students to talk about the pictures about an elephant and pandas on PPT.

    2. Students read the short readings to know the key words in this class:centimeter(cm),weigh,birth,at birth,up to,adult

    3.Help the students to learn the new words in this class .

    4.Ask the students to read the short readings about the elephants and pandas together to train their reading skills.

    Step 3 Work on 1a

    1.              Get students to read the information about elephants and pandas to make them use the knowledge about comparison to talk about them,like:

    The elephant weighs many times more than the panda.

    The elephant is 200 cm taller than the panda.

    2.Ask students to say some sentences like the model above.

    Step 4 Work on 1b and 1c.

    1.      Ask students to read the numbers in the box in 1b.
    2.      Play the point reading machine for the students to make them check the numbers they hear.
    3.      Play the point reading machine for the students again to make them complete the sentences in 1c.
    4.      Check answers in 1b and 1c by asking students to read the numbers and sentences they heard.

    Step 5 Summary for this class:

    1. Ask the students to read the new words in this class together..

    2. Tell students that animals are our good friends and we should try our bests to protect them .

    Step 6 Homework

    1. Remember the key words in this class.

    2. Use students`own words to talk about the elephants and pandas.

    The teaching reflection:

        In this class,we mainly helped our students to go on learning something  about the comparisons to express their feelings by learning something about the elephants and pandas by doing some listening practice.

    By learning this class,most students could use the knowledge to talk about something and express their feelings.As their English teacher,I was really happy to see that.However,after having this class,I could find some points that I should pay attention in my future teaching work:

    1.              In this class,I could not pay attention to the students who are weak in English learning.
    2.              In this class,I mainly told students about the knowledge about the comparisons instead of giving them enough chances to train their ability of using the language.
    3.              In this class, I should give students more chances to do more practice about comparisons using PPT.

       In general,as a language teacher,I think our main task is to train and improve our students`ability of using the language.
