Astronauts could be able to find drinking water inside tiny glass beads(玻璃珠) that are scattered (散落) across the surface of the Moon, according to researchers. The glass beads were found by scientists from the UK’s Open University while they were studying samples taken by China’s Chang’e-5 spacecraft during a mission in 2020.
Water is made up of two elements—hydrogen and oxygen. The beads are created when meteoroids—small rocks or iron orbiting the Sun—hit the Moon. The crash causes small drops of melting(融化的) rock to rain down. When they mix with Moon dust they become beads that contain oxygen. When solar wind reaches the Moon, hydrogen and oxygen meet. This creates water that is locked inside the beads when they cool.
This isn’t the first time that scientists have found evidence of water on the Moon. Research has shown that there is frozen water inside dark craters (陨石坑) at the Moon’s north and south poles. However, researchers believe that the glass beads must be scattered all over the Moon because it is often hit by meteoroids. They think there could be as much as 300 million tonnes of water stored in beads.
Getting water out of the beads should be much easier than getting it from craters. Astronauts will just need to heat them up. The water comes out as a gas, which becomes liquid when it cools. This research is really important for future Moon missions. It means that astronaut s living there for a long time to carry out research could have a natural source of water.
NASA plans to land people on the Moon in 2025 and the European Space Agency plans to build astronaut s a Moon village. Professor Mahesh Anand, who was involved in the study, told The Guardian newspaper, “This is one of the most exciting discoveries we’ve made.”
    8. What do we know about the glass beads?
    A. They were found during a mission in 2020.
    B. They are made up of oxygen and hydrogen.
    C. They are small rocks orbiting the sun.
    D. They are evidence of water on the moon.
    9. How can the astronauts get a natural source of water on the moon?
    A. By heating the beads up. B. By mixing up Moon dust.
    C. By cooling the hot rocks. D. By freezing the dark craters.
    10. What does the underlined word “they” in paragraph 2 refer to?
    A. Elements. B. Beads.
    C. Drops of melting rock. D. Crashes of iron.
    11. What is the best title for the text?
    A. Exploration of the Moon B. NASA Studies Water on the Moon
    C. Formation of Moon Water D. Glass Beads Hold Moon Water
A 9. A 10. C 11. D

故填a。
故填which 。
故填their。
故填was shocked。
分析句子结构,去掉It was和空处,句子的成分和意义依然完整,所以这里是“It is/was...that/who...” 故填that。
the attitude to/toward(s)... 故填to或toward(s)。

A Travel Experience
Of all the trips I’ve taken, the one that has left the deepest impression on me is the trip I took to London with my parents two years ago. It was my first time to go abroad, and therefore it was no wonder that everything there seemed quite fresh and appealing to me, especially its architectures and pub culture. What’s more, I had my English greatly improved by communicating frequently with native English-speakers during the week-long trip.
In a word, not only was I physically and mentally relieved but also I academically benefited a lot.
    因此:therefore→thus
    此外:what’s more→besides
    总而言之:in a word→all in all

What’s more, I communicated frequently with native English-speakers during the week-long trip, which made my English greatly improved.
1】Of all the trips I’ve taken, the one that has left the deepest impression on me is the trip I took to London with my parents two years ago.(运用了that引导限制性定语从句)
2】It was my first time to go abroad, and therefore it was no wonder that everything there seemed quite fresh and appealing to me, especially its architectures and pub culture.(运用了that引导的主语从句)
Sometimes when you are a kid, it is easy to feel pretty helpless. Indeed, if you stop and think about it, there are so many things that you can’t do. You can’t play sports as well as your football or basketball heroes. You can’t do some of the stunts (特技动作) that other kids do at the skate park. Sometimes it is hard to see that you even have the potential to develop any of these abilities. What you want to achieve may seem such a long way in the future that it feels you will never reach it.
Well, I once beard an inspiring story—a true story, I believe—about a boy named Trevor. It shows there are little things kids can do that make a big difference. One night Trevor was doing what a lot of other 13-year-old kids would be doing: He was watching TV. On the news he saw a story about some homeless people sleeping out in the cold on the streets, in a downtown area of Philadelphia where he lived. Trevor had never really stopped to think how fortunate he was to live in a fairly well-to-do suburb(郊区) of the same city. The story of the homeless people touched his heart and he began to wonder what he could do to help these people.
It might have been easy for Trevor to forget about it. There are so many sad stories that you see on TV at times. This could have been just another that he ignored.
Trevor also might have thought “Well, what can I do about it? I’m just a kid’‘, but he didn’t. Instead he began to wonder how he might help and that led him to remember there were some spare, unused blankets in their garage.
    注意:
    1.续写词数应为150左右;
    2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
    Paragraph 1:
So he went to his father and asked whether he could take the blankets to the homeless down town for the night.
    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    Paragraph 2:
To collect more blankets, the next day Trevor went to some public places where there were notice boards.
    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
So he went to his father and asked whether he could take the blankets to the homeless downtown for the night. His father was surprised but also proud of his son’s empathy and willingness to help others. He agreed to drive Trevor to the downtown area and together they handed out the blankets to the homeless people they came across. The smile on the faces of the homeless people and the gratitude in their eyes made Trevor feel that he had done something truly meaningful. From that night on, Trevor made it his mission to help the homeless people in his city.
To collect more blankets, the next day Trevor went to some public places where there were notice boards. He put up some posters appealing to people to donate any spare blankets they had. He also went to his school and asked his classmates to help him in this mission. Slowly but surely, Trevor was able to collect a lot of blankets. He and his father started to drive downtown more often to distribute the blankets to the people in need. They also started to bring food and other necessary things for the homeless people.

    ②偶遇:come across/encounter
    ③帮助:help/assist
    ①惊讶的:surprised/astonished
为傲:be proud of/take pride in
1】The smile on the faces of the homeless people and the gratitude in their eyes made Trevor feel that he had done something truly meaningful.(运用了that引导的宾语从句)
2】He put up some posters appealing to people to donate any spare blankets they had.(运用了现在分词appealing作后置定语以及any spare blankets后省略关系代词that的定语从句)
