There are many famous poets all over the world. My favorite poet is Du Fu, one of the greatest Chinese poets.

Known as “the Sage of Poetry”, Du Fu wrote with a realistic style and gave a vivid account of what was happening in his age. More importantly, Du Fu showed great concern over poor people’s lives. Many of his poems reflected the great gap between the rich and the poor, and the effects of war on the people.

Du Fu’s poems reflect realities and pay attention to common people’s lives. That’s why I like Du Fu most.

He explained the problem — a rain had fallen during the day. I then realized why the road was so slippery and muddy. After another unsuccessful attempt I finally accepted his help, and we loaded the motorcycle into the back of his truck. He turned around and took me back in the direction he came from. He asked me where I was going and I told him I was going to visit a friend in Paradise. It happened that he had planned to go back to Paradise that evening.

I asked him why he was out there in the field at such a late hour. He told me he was a roadman. He had a feeling that he needed to go down the road, but wasn’t sure why. Then he found me. It took us the better part of an hour（1小时的大部分时间） to make it to the next paved road. All the while I was amazed that he was able and willing to be there. He was so kind that he drove me to my friend’s home, which made me less worried. I will always be grateful to him for going out of his way on a dark night to the middle of nowhere to help me.
