On my first job as a sports editor for a small newspaper, I never got a letter from my readers, soI felt strange when an envelope was put on my desk one morning. When I opened it, I read: "A nice piece of writing on the Tigers. Well done! Go on!" It was signed by Don Wolfe, the sports editor. Because I was not confident at that time, his words couldn't have been more encouraging. Later, when I got to know him, I learned that Don made a habit of writing encouraging words to others. "When I make others eel good about themselves, " he told me, "I fee good, too. "
Over the years, I've tried to copy the example of Don Wolfe and other friends who care enough to write encouraging words, because I think they are doing something important. We all need a boost from time to time, and a few lines of praise may turn around a day, even a life
Why, then, are there so few note writers like Don Wolfe? My guess is that many are afraid they'll be misunderstood or sound strange. Also, writing takes time; it's far easier to make a phone call. The disadvantage with phone calls, of course, is that they don't last long A note is a matter of record, and the note can be read more than once and valued
What does it need to write notes that life spirits and warm hearts? Only a willingness to express our appreciation (欣赏). Be ready to give your praise. You may often see news of satellites which have been sent into space. On Feb 21, for example, US company SpaceX took 46 satellites into orbit (轨道). On Feb 27, China sent 22 satellites into space. At present, there are more than 3, 000 active satellites moving around the Earth, according to Statista, a German company working on market data. Why do we need so many satellites? What can they do for us?
Satellites can do all kinds of work, from giving you directions on the road to sending TV signals, to helping scientists do research. For example, the 22 satellites that China just sent up are part of the Beidou Navigation Satellite System. Shared bikes that use BeiDou chips(芯片)can have more correct positioning. This makes them easier to be found. Drones(无人机) can also use BeiDou to fly.
However, before satellites came into being, TV signals didn't go very far because of mountains or tall buildings. Phone calls to faraway places were also a problem. Setting up telephone lines over long distances is difficult. With satellites, TV signals and phone calls can be sent directly to a satellite and back down to different positions on Earth. Satellites can also provide information about clouds, oceans, land and ice, which helps scientists predict(预测)changes in weather and climate. By monitoring wildfires and volcanoes, they help workers deal with natural disasters(灾难).
Some satellites fly near other planets. They may look for water on Mars or take close-up pictures of Saturm's rings. In 2020, video website Bilibili sent a satellite into space. Its job is to look at other planets and share the pictures and videos with Bilibili's users.
When satellites are no longer needed, they don't last forever. When they are no longer in use, they can go either of two ways. Satellites in lower orbits are made to fall toward Earth. They then burn up in the atmosphere(大气层). Satellites in higher orbits are sent further from Earth. They become space junk. Someday we may need to send spaceships to collect them.
51. We can know that from Paragraph 1 _____________________________________.

B. To send Bilibili's users into space.

In the UK
In the UK the reason for tipping is to show that you really like the service. In the UK the pay for any work is quite high. So when you tip, it is mainly showing politeness to the service person, and to show that they do an excellent job.
You can tip more or less depending on how good you think the service is, and usually the tip is around 10-20%. If you don’t like the service, don’t tip! Or if you are a student, or traveler with not much money, it’s also OK not to tip.

I often think of the world as separated into countries, but when I look at the planet from space, I am surprised at what I have seen. Our planet is shaped by nature's forces and the long time.
Six months is a long time to spend away from Earth. But I was proud to be a spaceman. I loved living and working on the International Space Station(ISS). During my stay in space about two years ago, what surprised me most was just how fragile(脆弱的)and far our planet is.
While Earth seems to be a lively and surprising oasis(绿洲)of life, it also seems dangerous and small when hit by a dropping of hundred billions of stars.
This point shows the importance of the work we are doing on ISS-scientific study for the benefit(益处)of people on Earth while also trying to understand human existence(存在)in the universe. After the space station is handed over to the government in the mid-2020s, the European Space Agency, together with international partners, will help build a smaller space station called the Lunar Orbital Platform-Gateway. It will act as a starting point for both studying the moon and Mars. Ahead of human flying to Mars, some robots such as ESA'S ExoMars 2020 will fly to Mars for eight months and take the soil on Mars in Spring 2020 in order to find whether there is life there.
Having enjoyed the beauty of Earth from space, I am only to know that we must pay attentionto making sure our earth is still a safe place to support human life. But outside this blue oasis there is the whole universe to study, and we've only studied a little. Exciting times are waiting for us.
