A new rubbish sorting system has been put into use in Beijing. Local people not only sort their rubbish, but also put QR codes(二维码)on it.
“When the rubbish is collected and the codes are seen, I will get reward points to exchange for small gifts and even some money,” a local people said. “It’s really creative and encouraging.”
This smart system has been carried out in 350 communities in Beijing. The capital of China has joined a list of cities in the country that take action to support rubbish sorting. For example, Shenzhen and Shanghai have made laws to punish for not sorting rubbish correctly.
China produces quite a lot of rubbish every year. Much of the rubbish is buried(填埋)in soil or burned without being sorted. Landfills(填埋场)take up a lot of land and have a risk of polluting the soil and water nearby. And burning rubbish can produce harmful gases. Through rubbish sorting, we can reduce the use of landfills and air pollution.
What’s more, rubbish soiling saves resources, which could bring economic benefits(利益). For example, a ton of waste paper can be reused to make about 850kg of paper, saving 17 trees and 50 percent of water. Because of their benefits, some countries have developed successful sorting systems.
In Australia, every family is provided with three rubbish bins—the red lid(盖子)bin for “general waste” like food and plastic bags, the yellow lid bin for “recycling” like steel and glass, and the green lid bin for “green waste” such as grass and leaves. On the streets, the bins are printed with pictures of the things that are allowed inside. It makes recycling quite easy.
61.When using the new rubbish system in Beijing, people will use ________.
    A. B. C. D.
62.What are the consequences (后果)of burying rubbish?
①Polluting soil.    ②Polluting water.    ③Saving resources.
④Taking up a lot of land.⑤Producing terrible air.
    A.①②③ B.②③④ C.①③⑤ D.①②④
63.Which paragraph discusses the economic benefits of rubbish sorting?
    A.Paragraph 3. B.Paragraph 4. C.Paragraph 5. D.Paragraph 6.
64.In Australia, which bin should you put food left after dinner in?
A.The red lid bin. B.The yellow lid bin.
C.The green lid bin. D.The black lid bin.

It was a cold winter morning several years ago. My alarm clock had just gone off, but I was having trouble getting out of bed. My dad had died a few weeks before. I felt weighed down by sadness.
Tall and strong, my dad had worked so hard all of his life to support us. He had a temper(脾气) and would sometimes shout at my brothers and me, but I always knew that he loved me. Still, he had been raised in a traditional way and raised us that way too. I couldn’t remember, for example, ever being hugged by him.
After my mom and grandma passed away, my dad moved into grandma’s home right up the road from where I lived. I was so happy to have him close by. I would often visit him and just talk with him about life. But we still hardly touched and never hugged. Finally his own health began to rapidly fail and within a few months he left us. It was a cold morning when we had his service, but I was too cold and numb(麻木的) inside myself to feel it. I couldn’t remember when we’d had our last hug.
I took a deep breath and got out of my bed. I turned on the lights and walked into the hallway. I saw my son JJ walking down the hall to meet me. Suddenly, he opened his arms and gave me a heart-felt hug. And just as he did, I heard my dad’s voice deep inside of me say, “Joey, this hug is from me!” I cried and smiled at the same time. Comfort Zone is a state of mind where there is the least stress. However, stepping into the learning zone can help to bring out the best in us. Here are the reasons.
Challenging yourself can help you do at your best. Stepping outside one’s comfort zone is important to personal development. How can we expect to make ourselves better if we only stick to habit and routine(日常)? We should try something we might not succeed at.
Taking risks is what helps us grow. As children, we’re natural risk-takers. But as we get older and learn to fear failure, we start trying fewer new things. We pay a heavy price for our fear of failure. There is no learning without some difficulty.
Facing new challenges can help us age better. Our comfort zones seem to become smaller as we get older, but if we can keep expanding them, we’ll open ourselves up to a greater world as we age. As we step into the learning zone, we will get more comfortable with the skills gradually and we’ll start to move into the comfort zone. A study found that learning new life skills can help our brain sharp as we get older.
However, don’t push yourself too far. Have you heard of “Yerkes-Dodson Law”? It means performance increases as stress grows, but only up to a point. If the level of stress becomes too high, performance will go down. When stress becomes too great for us to deal with, we enter the danger zone.
56.Compared with the comfort zone, people in the learning zone may ______.

60.The best title of the text might be ______.
A.Comfort Zone Makes Us Safe B.The State of Comfort Zone
C.Step Outside Comfort Zone D.Never Fear Comfort Zone

Facial recognition technology(人脸识别技术) is widely used today. For example, police use it to search for bad guys(家伙). It’s also used to unlock phones or doors.
Now, a similar technology, known as facial detection(探测), is entering a new field: the business of advertising.
Such systems are going through tests in a small number of stores. One facial detection system can tell a person’s “happiness” or “fear” level. That helps businesses see how people feel as they look at products or advertisements in the store. Another system can detect whether someone is wearing eyeglasses. If so, stores can send advertisements for new glasses to him.
Facial detection technology is also placed inside some large advertising boards. Cameras in those boards can detect information like people’s ages and five levels of feelings-from “very happy” to “very unhappy”.
Supporters of the technology say it could improve buyers’ experience by showing products they might like or by offering them products at lower prices.
Some are against the idea of using such systems. Pam Dixon, the head of a privacy(隐私) group, is one of them. She thinks the strange actions may cause something unfair. For example, a business could raise the price of a product according to a person’s age and feelings.
However, one store testing the technology explained they wouldn’t store people’s information like names or ages. And the advertising board system maker said it didn’t keep any personal information or record any videos.
61.Facial detection technology can tell people’s ______ according to the passage.
    A.weight B.feelings C.height D.jobs
62.What does the underlined word “they” in paragraph 3 refer to?

When I was young, my father often took me on short trips. On the way home from these trips, Dad often stopped at the Dairy Queen and bought me a 10-cent ice cream.
One day, we were on our way home and I was hoping Dad would do the same. And he did.
"Would you like an ice cream today?" asked Dad.
    "That sounds great, Dad!"
But then he said, "It sounds good to me too, son. Would you like to treat me today?"
Twenty cents! I could afford it. But when it was my money, an ice cream just wasn't a good use of it.

They're members of the Fayette County Livestock Club. In this club, children learn many skills, such as cutting wool and taking care of animals.
"A lot of Lexington kids don't know anything about farm life," said Adria Meier,17, who has looked after goats(山羊)and sheep for three years. "There is so much to learn. "
Children who take care of their goats and sheep at the little red barn must take a six-hour class before they get an animal of their own. They pay for their own animals but get special club programs for free, such as one that provides animal care.
Mahan lets the group use the barn for free. The kids spend up to three hours a day there during the summer.
There are valuable lessons learned along the way. For instance, don't cut the wool off your goats and sheep when there is wind. Sheep are social animals and they will cry loudly when they are separated.
"Looking after animals helps teach us responsibility. Unlike learning to swim or play soccer, caring for an animal isn't something you can simply abandon(遗弃),"said Carly Playforth.
