    Unit 2  Colours  Integrated skills & Study skills

    设计说明

    首先通过复习颜色和情绪之间的关系导入新课,然后引入颜色疗法,听读彩虹夫人的颜色疗法,完成一系列的任务,再根据此内容展开说的练习,让学生谈论颜色和衣服,用提建议的方式展开,最后利用练习来复习巩固本节课知识。

    教学目标

    通过本课时的教学, 让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握单词和短语:therapy, discover, teens, promise, or, work, practise, stressed, suggest, would rather

    2.能力目标

    通过听说练习,训练学生听说的技能,逐步掌握听力技巧;学会运用扫读的阅读技巧。

    3.情感目标

    通过听说练习,了解颜色疗法,学会用颜色与情绪的关系来解决身边的问题。

    重点难点

    重点:颜色疗法相关的词和短语;听懂关于颜色疗法的文章。

    难点:阅读技巧——扫读。

    PPT 课件;相关图片。

    教学过程

    Step 1  Lead-in

    Raise questions “What is the relationship between colours and moods?

    How can colours influence you?” Talk about the relationship between colours and moods.

    Step 2  Presentation  

    1. Introduce colour therapyA way to use colours to change people’s moods and improve their life.

    2. Introduce Mrs Rainbow and her therapy centre. Present some new words while introducing her.

    Step 3  Listen and practice 

    1. Show A1. Read the advertisement and answer the questions.

    (1) What does Mrs Rainbow discover?

    (2) What channel will the programme The Teens Show be on?

    (3) How can you contact her?

    (4) What’s her promise?

    Answers: (1) She discovers how the power of colours can change your moods and improve your life.

    (2) On STTV.

    (3) You can call her at 5557 8187.

    (4) Her promise is that this therapy can help you change your moods, or you will get your money back.

    2. Ask the students to read through the notes in A1 and complete some of the notes before listening.

    3. Listen to the tape twice and complete the notes.

    Mrs Rainbow’s Colour Therapy

    Her therapy centre is on (1)________________________.

    Colour therapy comes from ancient India.

    Step 4  Speak up 

    1. Ask students to listen to the tape and answer the questions.

    3Because she thinks jeans are comfortable and they match Andy’s shirt.

    2. Listen and read the dialogue in pairs.

    3. Act it out.

    4. Show them ways of giving suggestions. Ask them to make up their own dialogues.

    Step 5  Language points

    1. We promise that this therapy can help you change your moods, or you will get your money back! 我们承诺这种疗法能够帮助你改变心情,否则你将取回你的钱!

    1promise动词,意为“答应,承诺”,后跟名词、动词不定式或that从句。

    I promise to go swimming with her. 我答应跟她去游泳。

    My father promised me to buy me a new bike.

    我爸爸答应给我买辆新自行车。

    I promise that I will help him with his English. 我答应我会帮他学习英语。

    2or 连词,否则

    She has to have the operation, or she will die. 她必须进行手术,否则会死的。

    Hurry up, or we will be late. 快点儿, 不然我们要迟到了。

    2. She suggests different clothes to different people.

    她向不同的人建议不同的衣服。

    suggest 动词,意为“建议”,后跟名词、动词-ing形式或宾语从句。

    (1) suggest sth. to sb. ……推荐给……

    My teacher suggested the books to us. 老师把这些书推荐给我们。

    (2) suggest doing sth. 建议做某事

    I suggest climbing the hill this Sunday. 我建议这个周日爬山。

    (3) suggest +that从句(多用虚拟语气)

      I suggest that we (should) set off earlier. 我建议我们早点儿出发。

    3. I’d rather wear orange. 我更喜欢穿橙色的。

    would rather = ’d rather 意为“宁愿,更喜欢”, 表示“宁可做……而不愿

    ……”,常用句型:would rather do sth. than do sth.。若than前后动词

    相同,则可省略than后面的动词。

    I would rather have a cup of tea. 我宁愿喝杯茶。

    I would rather go tomorrow than today. 我宁愿明天去,不愿今天去。

    The child would rather play than do his homework.

    =The child prefers playing to doing his homework. 那个孩子宁愿玩耍也不愿做作业。

    Step 6  Study skills

    1. Tell them what scanning is and when we can use this kind of reading skill.

    Scanning means moving our eyes quickly over the text to look for specific information such as names or numbers. We do not need to read every word. Instead, we look for the key information that will answer our questions.

    Scanning is often used when we read: some parts like “What’s on TV” in the newspaper; a bus / train timetable; a guidebook.

    2. Read the passage and learn to use the way of scanning. Answer the questions and understand the passage.

     1What did it mean if the sky was blue?

    2Why did women in the past like pink and red?

    3What power was blue once believed to have?

    4Where did girls come from according to a European story?

    Answers:1It meant good weather.

    2Because these were the colours of healthy food, such as strawberries and apples.

    3It was once believed to have the power to drive evil spirits away.

    4They came from pink roses.

    Step 7  Homework
