    Unit 1  Friend sReading

    设计说明

    先设计问题引出“朋友”的话题,既复习了前一课时的内容,又为接下来的学习做了铺垫;通过听读训练,结合书后练习让学生们对文章内容大体了解;之后通过精读、知识点讲解让学生提取文章细节并对文章中重点短语和句型进行记忆和理解;最后让学生通过对朋友的描述,引发学生对朋友的进一步认识及对友谊的思考。

    教学目标

    通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握词汇:generous, willing, any time, voice, singer, almost, round, sense, humour, bored, fit, knock, onto, straight, sweet, smile, personality, choose

    2.能力目标

    (1)能够掌握课文中介绍人外貌、性格的语句表达。 

    (2)能够整体把握文章内容并介绍自己的朋友。

    (3)能够写出关于朋友简介的短文。

    3.情感目标

    树立正确的交友观,并有意识地培养自己优秀的品格。

    重点难点

    重点:理解文章内容,获取文章细节信息

    难点:简介朋友,描述其外貌和品质

    教学过程

    Step 1  Lead-in

    Ask the students questions about their friends.

    T: What does your friend look like?

       Ss: My friend is good-looking /pretty/ lovely /beautiful/ tall / strong / slim / fat

       T: What kind of person is your friend? /What is your friend like?

       Ss: He / She is a clean and tidy/ clever/ friendly/ funny/ helpful/ polite… person.

    Step 2  Presentation  

    1. Ask the students to listen to the recording and find out their names.

    Answers: Betty  Max  May

    2. Ask the students to listen again and read the article to get information and learn new words and phrases.

    Betty

    1. Ask the students to listen to the recording and find out Bettys looks.

    What does Betty look like?

    Answer: She is a slim girl with short hair.

    1. Ask the students to read the entry and find out Betty’s personality.

      (1)What kind of person is she? Some examples?

     (2)What does she want to do when she grows up?

    Answers:

    (1)She is generous and helpful. She is willing to share things with her friends. She is ready to help people any time. She helps me with my homework and she always gives her seat on the bus to someone in need.

    (2)She wants to be a singer.

    3. Language points.

    1  Betty is one of my best friends. 贝蒂是我最好的朋友之一。

    one of + the +最高级+可数名词复数形式”意为“最…………之一”。

    Max is one of the tallest students in his class.麦克斯是他班上最高的学生之一。

    It’s one of the most important meetings. 这是最重要的会议之一。 

    2  She is willing to share things with her friends. She is also helpful and ready to help people any time.

    她愿意和朋友们分享东西,还乐于助人,在任何时候都乐意帮助人们。

    be willing to do sth.= be ready to do sth. 意为“愿意做某事”。

    Mary is always willing to help others. 总是乐于助人。

    Are you willing to keep a secret for me? 你愿意为我保守秘密吗?

    I am ready to chat with my friends in English.我愿意用英语跟我的朋友们聊天。

    3  She helps me with my homework and she always gives her seat on the bus  to someone in need.

    她帮助我完成作业,在公共汽车上她总是把座位让给需要的人。

    (1) help sb. with sth.意为“帮助某人某事”

    help sb. (to) do sth.意为“帮助某人做某事”

    Bob often helps me with my Chinese.=Bob often helps me (to) learn Chinese.

    鲍勃经常帮助我学语文。

    (2) give one’s seat to sb. 意为“把座位让给某人

    It is polite for us to give our seats to the old in need.

    对于我们来说把座位让给需要的老人是礼貌的。

    Max

    1. Ask the students to listen to the recording and find out Maxs looks.

      What does Max look like?

    Answer: He is tall and wears small round glasses.

    1. Ask the students to read the entry and find out Max’s personality.

    (2)What happens when he walks past the desks?

    Answers:

      (1)He has a good sense of humour.

    (2)When he walks past the desks, he often knocks his classmates’ books and pens onto the floor.

    3.Language points

    1  Max has a good sense of humour. 麦克斯很有幽默感。

    a sense of humour 幽默感   

    humour名词,意为“幽默  

    humorous 形容词,意为“幽默的”。

    Stephen has a good sense of humour.                                          

    = Stephen is very humorous. 斯蒂芬有很强的幽默感

    2  I never feel bored with him.和他在一起我从不觉得无聊。

    bored 形容词,意为“无聊的”,常指人的感受。

    boring 形容词,意为“令人乏味的”,常修饰事物或说明事物的特征。

    The boring meeting made everyone feel very bored. 乏味的会议使大家都感到很无聊。

    3  When he walks past our desks, he often knocks our books and pens onto the floor. 当他走过我们的课桌时,他经常把我们的书和钢笔碰到地上。

    knock动词,意为“碰,撞”。

    knock…onto the floor意为“把……碰掉到地上”

    Max knocked my glass onto the floor. 麦克斯把我的玻璃杯碰到地板上

    May

    1. Ask the students to listen to the recording and find out Mays looks.

      What does May look like?

     Answer: She is short. She has big bright eyes and long straight hair. Everyone thinks she is pretty.

    1. Ask the students to read the entry and find out May’s personality.

      What kind of person is she?

      Answer: She is sweet. She smiles often and never says a bad word about anyone. She is a true friend.

    3. Language points.

    1  She smiles often and never says a bad word about anyone.

    她经常微笑,且从不说任何人的坏话。

    (1) smile 动词,意为“微笑”。

    He smiles when he meets me. 他见到我时笑了笑。

    【拓展】smile还可用作名词,意为“微笑”。

    He looked at me with a smile.他面带微笑地看了看我。

    (2) say a bad word about sb. =say bad words about sb.意为“说某人的坏话”。

    It is not kind to say bad words about others. 说别人的坏话是不友善的。

    2  When something worries me, I can always go to her. 当有使我烦恼的事时,我总会去找她。

    worry用作动词,意为“使担心,使烦恼”。worry about意为“为……担心”,与be worried about 同义。

    Dont worry. I will help you.不要担心,我会帮助你的。

    My mother always worries about my grades.我妈妈总是担心我的成绩。
