I also like to read some detective stories during the holiday. Detective stories are attractive and I can learn to solve mysteries while reading. Reading can make me wiser.

Listening to different forms of music is a good way to relax myself. I want to enjoy myself in the world of music.

60% of the students like watching reality shows and playing computer games. They think it is interesting to get information about stars and playing online can make them relaxed. What’s more, they feel it is great fun to communicate and play with strangers without going outside.

30% of the students prefer to watch some documentaries and get close to their family. In their eyes, watching documentaries is not only a good way to get along with family members, but also helps open up their mind and increase their knowledge.

Personally, I think some excellent cultural programmes like Readers are worth watching. They let us know more about our own culture. Besides, we should do more sports after school in order to keep healthy. In this way, we will have a rich and colourful life.

Watching TV makes our life colourful. Firstly, we can learn about lots of up-to-date news from TV so that we can know what is happening around the world. Secondly, we can relax ourselves by watching comedies or cartoons on TV. Thirdly, some programmes like documentaries are helpful to our studies because they can help us learn a lot about history, nature and real-life events.

  However, watching TV too much can cause problems as well. First of all, it is bad for our health. Some students have worse and worse eyesight now because they watch too much TV. What’s more, some students spend so much time watching TV that they don’t have enough time for their studies.

 In my opinion, we must manage our time better and try to achieve/ keep a balance between our schoolwork and watching TV. Besides, we are supposed to choose suitable TV programmes to watch.

I’m so happy to share my stories about playing the piano with you .

I began to learn to play the piano at the age of 5. In the beginning, I found it really boring to practice it. What’s more, in order to play it well, I had to spend so much time practicing the piano that I hardly had any time for other activities. This made me angry and sad. When my teacher found I was in blue, she encouraged me not to give up. She told me that I had a gift for playing the piano and asked me to keep trying. With her help, I became more confident and devoted myself to practicing. At last, I made great progress and won an award at the school art festival.

As the old saying goes, hard work leads to success. Today I want to tell you that if you believe in ourselves and put our effort into the work, we will achieve success. I hope you will realize your dreams through hard work.

In your last e-mail, you asked me about the Art Festival. I am glad to tell you something about it.

The festival was held so that all the students could learn about different art forms and enjoy the beauty of art.

There were a lot of activities at the Art Festival in our school. Sandy had a real gift for painting, so she designed the poster for the festival. Mike was so good at photography that he gave us a talk on how to take photos. All of us learnt a lot from his talk. I enjoyed some concerts. I like classical music best because it has a lasting value.

At the Art Festival, all the students showed their talents and learnt about each other better. I hope we can hold more activities like this in the future.
