Darwin’s Notebooks Are Back
Over 20 years ago, two of Charles Darwin’s notebooks went missing from the Cambridge University Library. Now, somebody has returned them. Mr. Darwin was a great scientist. He studied how different creatures (生物) changed slowly over time. He wrote down his ideas in notebooks. These ideas changed the world.
The two notebooks were last seen in 2000. The library put them in a small box. Then in 2001, the box went missing. The workers looked everywhere in the library, but couldn’t find the notebooks. Finally, they asked people around the world to help them to find the books.

Bush schooling (丛林教育) comes from Europe. It is also known as forest schooling and is generally (通常) only for kindergarten children. Bush school students learn by playing in the forests. In recent years, a number of bush primary schools have appeared in Australia.
Upper Sturt Primary School is one of them. Students spend around 60 percent of their time outdoors learning from nature. The school has designed a bush village with huge sandpits (沙坑), tents and fire pits. There the children take part in many different activities, such as woodworking, singing in the tents and cooking over open fires. Their teachers are always around if they need any help.
