Holidays see many travelers grabbing the majority of their clothing while packing in a panic, but they won't have enough options when they get to their destination. This often ends up in overpacking, and numerous items never being worm. It's important to think carefully about what you put in your luggage.Cutting down the items to take is key.
An organizational expert,Vicky Silverthor, provides some tips around how packing can be made much easier. The result is a less stresful experience ,meaning people get more out of their holidays.
One of Vicky's top holiday tips is to make sure you pack clothes together. "Everyone's made the mistake of not thinking through clothes while packing- throwing random items into a suitcase before realizing that nothing goes," Vicky told Express.co.uk."To avoid this, pack complete clothes together so that every item has a purpose. When you come to unpack, they'll be ready to wear, and it always works to separate them out by‘pool', ' beach',‘ evening' and so on."
Vicky claims,"The night before you travel is also important- and,if you're travelling early, you can make life easier for yourself in advance. One top tip is to leave your suitcase by the front door along with a list of things to do before you leave the house. If you do this the night before, you'll limit the chances of forgetting any key details, and this can be particularly vital if you're flying with family."What's the purpose of this passage? ______ A. To make a summary about traveling.
B. To advertise traveling for a company.
C. To inform some guidelines about traveling.
D. To provide some suggestions about how to pack. What do holidaymakers mostly do when packing? ______ A. They are in a panic while packing.
B. They take too many clothing never being worm.
C. They won't have enough options about their destination.
D. They think carefully about what they put in their luggage.Vicky suggests ______ .A. packing together with someone
B. throwing random items into a suitcase
C. arranging clothes for a specific purpose
D. wearing suitable clothes to a certain placeWhy should a traveler put things near the front door? ______ A. Because he travels early.
B. Because the front door is near.
C. Because he can fly with his family.
D. Because it might prevent leaving important items behind.CTake a look inside a high school classroom. You will most likely find a teacher at the front of the class and students sitting at their desks.Yet,look closer, and you might notice a familiar scene:many of these students are not paying attention.Instead, they are dozing off (打盹) or even completely asleep.
Today, the majority of high school students are not getting enough sleep. This lack of sleep is a serious problem, especially as students are doing more than ever with their time,They come to school early, spend hours listening to teachers and taking tests, then run off to practices and meetings, and come home to be faced with even more work. And the homework load these days is not light;teachers give hours worth of homework each night.
Most kids need at least nine hours of sleep per night in order to function properly.Yet the period of this nine hours as a child gets older. After puberty (青春期),the body's internal clock changes so that it is difficult for teens to fall asleep before 11 p.m.So even if a student falls asleep at eleven, they would need to sleep until at least 8 a.m.to get a full night's sleep.Considering the time at which most high schools in this country begin, those nine hours are clearly being shortened.Few high schools start after 8 a.m.
However, there are schools that have paid attention to this research and pushed backward the start of their school day.In schools where the start time is after 8:30 in the morning, the teachers believe that there has been a real change in their students. They note that the students miss class less, pay more attention in class, perform better in class, and report lower levels of depression. The researchers of these studies say that the results are quite important and that more schools should consider pushing backward their start time of their school day.Which of the following would the author agree with? ______ A. High school students must go to bed before 10 p.m.
B. High schools should begin their school day at a later time.
C. Most schools should push forward the start of their school day.
D. Kids should shorten their sleep time gradually as they grow older. The second paragraph mainly discusses ______ A. why high school students should get more sleep
B. what's life like for high school students at present
C. why high school students feel sleepy in the classroom
D. how to lighten high school students' homework loadThe underlined word"shift:"probably means " . ______ A. arrives B. reduces C. increases D. changesHow do the teachers feel about the results from pushing backward their school day? ______ A. Disappointed. B. Satisfied. C. Puzzled. D. Surprised.DBeing able to take advantage of truly unlimited data is a smartphone user's dream, but everyone I've talked to about 5 G is more excited about the usage unlocked by next-generation wireless devices. From smart home security to self-driving cars, all the Internet connected equipment in your life will be able to talk to each other at lightning-fast speed with reduced delay.
"5 G is one of those forerunners, along with artificial intelligence,of this coming data age,"said Steve Koenig, senior director of market research for the Consumer Technology Association.Self-driving vehicles are in this data age- they show application of data completely. With one single task, driving, you have large amounts of data coming from the vehicle itself, and a variety of sensors are collecting a lot of information to model its environment as it moves. It's pulling in data from other vehicles about conditions down the road. There's lots of data behind that task ,which is why we need the speed and lower latency (延迟).
AR glasses and virtual (虚拟的) reality headphones haven't yet been inside the mainstream, but tech companies are joyfully saying that 8 uch equipment will eventually replace our smartphones. With 5 G,that could actually happen. This is notable because companies such as Apple are reportedly developing AR glasses to improve- -or even replace--smartphones.
Ericsson showed at February's Mobile World Congress in 2019 how smart glasses could become faster and lighter with a 5 G connection, because instead of being weighed down with components, the glasses could rely on outside equipment for processing power.
But don't get too excited. There's still a lot of work to be done in the meantime, including some necessary testing to make sure the radio plays nicely with basic systems and service construction so that 5 C isn't concentrated only in big cities. What does the first paragraph focus on? ______ A. Potential of 5 G.
B. The super speed of 5 G.
C. Usage of 8 mart equipment.
D. The future of smart equipment.Which word can replace" emblematic"underlined in paragraph 2? ______ A. Available. B. Productive.
C. Representative. D. Popular. What is tech companies' attitude towards the replacement of smartphones? ______ A. Uncertain. B. Optimistic. C. Cautious. D. Disapproving. Why does much work still need to be done according to the last paragraph? ______ A. To make radio play nicely. B. To construct big 5 G cities.
C. To do 5 G trials effectively. D. To expand 5 G coverage fully.Should you listen to music when you work? Some will say they love it,claiming that it improves their performance;others will say they cannot work effectively with music playing in the background. (1) It just depends on what sort of work you're doing.
In a recent study,we brought participants into our lab with a variety of tasks. They included an easy task一searching through word lists and crossing out words containing the letter"a" and a more difficult task - memorizing word pairs and recalling the partner to each word. Some participants completed all of the tasks in silence ,whereas others completed the tasks with instrumental music that was either loud or soft, and either simple or complex, the latter meaning music with more instrumental tracks. (2)
We found that participants who listened to simple music or no music performed about the same on the easy task. (3) Contrarily, participants performed worse on the more difficult task when they listened to any music ,regardless of complexity or volume ,compared to those who didn't listen to any music.
(4) Not surprisingly,we typically need lo use fewer of our mental resources when we perform easy tasks, whereas demanding tasks require more brainpower. However, because we might be less engaged during easier tasks, there's a greater risk of drifting off to sleep.Music might give us the extra boost we need to get refreshed. (5) Listening to music can become overkill (过犹不及).So we have to strike a balance between the type of music and the type of task.
A.What should we make of these findings?
B.Several key findings emerged from our study.
C.However, difficult tasks already demand a lot of our mental resources.
D.Our research has found that the effects of work may depend on our personalities.
E.We want to develop a more comprehensive framework that could be applied broader.
F.However ,participants who listened to complex music performed best on the easy task.
G.Interestingly enough,our research has found that both of these perspectives can be true. A. A B. B C. C D. D E. E F. F G. G A. A B. B C. C D. D E. E F. F G. G A. A B. B C. C D. D E. E F. F G. G A. GHave you seen people who take pictures of food for more than 10 minutes before eating?How about those who beautify their selfie (自拍) so much that they can't be(21)?There must be one or more who(22)in your social media.No matter(23)they choose to share,they share the best but the most unreal.

Many people care too much about others' opinions and try too hard to(31)others.They find it hard to be(32)and to accept themselves, and thus they are afraid to show their(33)life on social media. What they are tying to prove is(34)what they lack in reality. But this will not bring any(35)to reality,as they sill (36) the same old pattern of life.
If they really want an elegant life, they should put more(37)into achieving it(38) fabricating (伪造) it.Being more confident,(39)themselves and trying their best to be better is much more meaningful than(40)their life on social media.
