    Passive voice in the past continuous and past perfect tenses

           内容分析:

    本板块围绕单元话题,首先通过一篇关于城市半程马拉松的博客文章,引导学生观察、探究过去进行时和过去完成时的被动语态在文中的使用情况,归纳过去进行时和过去完成时的被动语态的核心规则;然后通过句子、语篇两个层面的练习巩固所学;最后再让学生正确使用目标语法完成相关活动,学以致用。

           教学目标:

    By the end of this section, students will be able to:

    1. identify the use of the passive voice in the past continuous and past perfect tenses;
    2. work out the rules of the passive voice in the past continuous and past perfect tenses;
    3. use the right tenses to finish related tasks;
    4. apply the passive voice in the past continuous and past perfect tenses in new contexts.

           教学重难点:

    1. To summarize the general rules;
    2. To apply the rules correctly and properly.

           教学过程:

    Step 1   Lead-in

    Show a picture to the student and ask a question: What is half-marathon?

     

    Step 2   Exploring the rules

    Read the blog post on page 20, find out what Nicole did and fill in the table below.

    Six weeks ago

    Nicole agreed to take part in a city half-marathon for amateurs

    Over the past six weeks

    Nicole started her training very gently on the first day, and gradually increased the distance in each training session.

    On the day of the city half-marathon

    Nicole ran her race relaxed and confident.

     

     

    Step 3Go through the blog post again and complete the table in part A

    Passive voice in the past continuous tense

    ... a city half-marathon for amateurs was being organized

    ..., even though my limits were being tested like never before.

    Passive voice in the past perfect tense

    ..., I reflected on what had just been achieved.

    I was happy to learn that a lot of money had been raised for charity.

    Step 3   Working out the rules

    Answer:
