Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class and briefly talk about their learning challenges and solutions.

Step 2 Work on 2a-2b
1.Let the students read the question in 2a:Where do you need to make polite requests?
2.Ask the students to think of some possible situations.And then ask the students to discuss them with their partners.
3.Lead the students to read the instruction in 2b and know what to do while reading.
4.Ask the students to read the passage quickly and find the topic sentence for each paragraph.
5.Prepare the main topic sentence of each paragraph and show them on the screen or on the blackboard.
6.Ask the students to read the passage again more slowly and carefully.Then explain the important knowledge.
7.Let the students practice reading aloud by listening to the recording.
Step 3 Work on 2c-2d
1.Read the instruction in 2c and ask the students to find the direct questions and polite requests from the passage in 2b.
2.Read the instruction in 2d and tell the class what to do.
3.Ask these requests one by one and ask the students to answer them in turn.
