    Module2 Unit2全英教学设计

    课题

    Unit 2 How much cheese did you buy?

    教学目标

    1. To understand the main idea of all the dialogues in this unit.
    2. To be able to use the sentence pattern How many…? How much…?” to talk about number of items purchased.
    3. To master the basic rules of pronunciation of the letters or letter combinations u, o/ a, er/ ir, ur in words.
    4. To appropriately use the simple past tense in different contexts.

    教学重点

    1. Students can get the main idea of the conversation.  
    2. Students can correctly identify and use the sentence pattern “How many…? How much…?”.

    教学难点

    Countable and uncountable nouns and the expression of quantities in English.

    教学准备

    Teacher preparation: multimedia courseware, textbook recordings

    Student Preparation: Pre-class preparation

    教学过程

    1.Warm-up Activity

    1)        Students play the game “Whac-a-mole” where they are required to correct mistakes in the given sentence to whack each mole.

    2)        At the end of the game, teacher shows the answers and explains the certain question in detail if necessary.

     

    2.Look, Listen and Say

    1)        Teacher asks students a prompting questionWhat did she eat and what did she drink?” before playing the conversation video.

    2)        Students watch the video and answer the question.

    3)        Students listen one more time and read the dialogue out on their own with no pronunciation mistakes.

     

    3.Listen and Read

    1)        Teacher shows a cartoonish picture of a picnic to set the context of the dialogue students are going to listen to.

    2)        The question “what did Lingling, Sam, and Amy buy?” is given to students.

    3)        Students watch the video and answer the question.

    4)        Then, teacher asks another question “How much juice/cheese/ chocolate did they buy?

    5)        Students answer each question individually based on the dialogue.

    6)        Teacher carries close reading with students in which important phrases or words are highlighted.

     

    4.Point and Say

    1)        Teacher gives explanations on countable nouns and uncountable nouns. Sight words are given as examples.

    2)        Teacher asks students to make sentences using “How much/ How many…?” with their partner. Nouns are given to students.

    3)        Student are required to correctly identify both kind of nouns.

     

    5.Listen and Repeat  

    1)        Letter sounds written in textbook are categorized into three groups. Teacher guides students to understand and practice each sound with the help of slides 15-17.

     

    6. Listen and Sing

    1)        Teacher encourages students to overcome the shyness and sing it with the whole class.

     

    7. Key points

    1)        Teacher elaborates more on the use of “How many/ How much…?” and basic quantity words “许多” in English.

    2)        Teacher groups students to paly the board game on page 13.

    3)        Teacher asks students to write their dialogues using the template on page 13 and act them out in groups.

    板书设计

    询问买的东西的数量多少:

       How much+ 不可数名词单数 + did you buy?

       How many+ 可数名词复数 + did you buy?

    课后作业

    1)        Follow the text recordings and read aloud the dialogues on page 11.  

    2)        Learn to sing the song “How many do you want?”.

    3)        Refer to activities 6 and 7 on page 13 and make up a new dialogue with no less than 4 sentences, and complete the synchronous exercises.

    教学反思

    In the student-based learning activity, teacher should be able to manage the classroom well in case of chaos and other incidents.
