2. Read the words correctly:

 Long, sing, ring, young; think, ink, trunk, pink.

3. Read these sentences that include the pronunciation rules of “ng” and “nk” fluently and correctly.

PPT presents some consonant digraphs of Unit 1-4 and lead the students to read together.

1. T shows the pictures on PPT and ask Ss describe:

The ruler is very long.

I can sing English songs very well.

The girl is very young.

The phone rings.

I usually go shopping.

Then write down the words underlined on the Bb and ask Ss find out the secret of “ng”.

2. Teach “nk” in the same way by presenting different sentences:

My favourite colour is pink.

I do my homework with a pen and ink.

Then Ss try to imitate the sounds correctly.

Listen carefully and classify words. After that, T check the answers.

Practice in groups and then have a show.
