情态动词 culd 构成的句型用于向对方委婉地提出请求或征求对方的许可。它本身不能做谓语,只能和动词原形一起构成谓语。
1. 用于委婉地请求别人做某事(提出请求)
例:——你能整理你的床铺吗? ——抱歉,我不能。我现在必须做家庭作业。 —Culd yu please make yur bed? —Srry, I can’t. I have t d my hmewrk nw.
—My English is pr. Culd yu help me with it?—_________________.A. Thank yu B. Me, tC. N prblem D. See yu
2. 用于委婉地请求别人允许自己做某事(征求许可)
例:——妈妈,我明天可以和朋友去购物吗? ——恐怕不行,你要上钢琴课。 —Culd I g shpping with my friend tmrrw, Mm? —I’m afraid yu can’t. Yu shuld take yur pian lessns.
(1)无论是“Culd yu please... ?”还是“Culd I ”句型,问句中的 culd 可用 can 来代替,但是 culd 更委婉。且答语中一般都避免使用 culd 来回答。(2)句中 please 还可放在句尾,其前用逗号和前面的内容隔开。
