1. 冠词是什么？冠词是一种虚词，不能单独使用，没有词义，只能附着在一个名词上，帮助说明其含义。英语中冠词有3个，一是不定冠词 a 和 an, 二是定冠词 the。
2. 冠词考什么？对于冠词的考查，往往集中于a、an的用法区别，定冠词the的用法，不用冠词的情况，习惯用语中冠词的用法等几个方面。
一、 不定冠词a、an的用法1. a和an都用于可数名词单数前，泛指人和物。 表示可数事物中的一个。但两者用法有区别：① a用在以辅音音素开头的单词前面。如：a bk，a gd idea，a useful bk。② an用在以元音音素开头的单词前面。如：an egg，an range，an apple。a+冠词，表示”又一，再一“=antherThe apple is delicius, I wuld like a secnd ne.
注意：某些以元音字母开头的单词用a，因为其第一个音是/j/。如：a university，a Eurpean language某些以字母 h 开头的单词用an，因为这些单词的＂h＂不发音。如：an hnest by，an hur ag

二、定冠词the的用法 表示特指的人、物或群体，作用有时相当于 this, that, these, thse。读音：元音音素前读/ðì/, 辅音音素前读/ðə/。
1. 指谈话双方知道的人或事物。 Where is the teacher?2. 复述上文提过的人或事物 This is a pen. The pen is black.3. 表示世界上独一无二的事物。 the sun the earth
4. 用在序数词或形容词、副词最高级和部分比较级以及形容词nly, very, sme 等词前Tm is the taller f the tw bys.汤姆是两个男孩中比较高的那个。5. 用于专有名词前。 the Great Wall the United States
6. 用在西洋乐器及棋类前。 play the pian 7. 和某些形容词连用，表示一类人或物。 the pr the rich the ld
8. 用在姓氏的复数名词前，表示一家人或夫妇二人The Smiths are fishing in the park.史密斯一家人/史密斯夫妇正在公园里钓鱼。 9.与复数名词连用，指整个群体They are the teachers f this schl.他们就是这所学校的全体老师。
定冠词的用法口诀特指双熟悉，上文已提及；世上独无二，序数最高级；某些专有名，习语及乐器。
