    The materials are all n the bench.Chse smene frm yur grup t g and get fur dishes and fur pieces f clth, a dish f seeds, sme tap water, sme biled water and sme cking il. Lk at the instructins n the bard. Let’s read thrugh them.
    One: Put the pieces f clth n the dishes and spread the seeds n the clth. Label the dishes A t D.Tw: Take Dish A and wet the clth with tap water and place it in a well-aired warm spt– s by the windw ver there wuld be fine.Three: Take Dish B, wet it with tap water and put it in the fridge.
    Fur: Take Dish C and put it next t Dish A. D nt water it.Five: Take Dish D and water it with the biled water. Then drp a small amunt f il nt the clth and put it next t Dish C.Six: Leave them all fr a few days. OK, nw yu can g ahead and set up the experiment.
    Part 2: Listen t the class discussing the results f the experiment. Students include Andrew (A), Rsemary (R) and Sandy (S). TH: Right, let’s talk abut what’s happened in ur experiment. What are the results? Andrew?A: The seeds in Dish A have started grwing but nne f the thers have.
    TH: Gd. Why d yu think the seeds in Dish B didn’t grw? Rsemary? R: Because it was t cld?TH: That’s right. And what abut Dish C?
    R: The seeds didn’t get any water s they culdn’t grw.TH: Yes. Nw, Dish D is interesting. The seeds gt bth water and warmth s why didn’t they grw? Any ideas? Andrew?
    A: Well, the seeds gt biled water.TH: S, why’s that imprtant? Anyne? Well, biled water has n xygen in it and seeds need xygen t grw. And What abut the il? Sandy?S: Wuldn’t the il make sure that n Oxygen culd get t the seeds?
    TH: Excellent. Well dne. S, what’s ur cnclusin abut three imprtant cnditins that a seed needs in rder t start grwing?S: That seeds need warmth, water and xygen t grw.TH: Very gd. Nw I want yu all t write up the experiment in yur science ntebk.

    I did the experiment t find ut three imprtant cnditins that seeds need in rder t start grwing. First, I put the fur pieces f clth n each dish, spread the seeds n the clth and label the dishes A t D.
    Then I placed Dish A in a well-aired warm spt by the windw, tk Dish B and wet it with tap water and put it in the fridge, tk Dish C and put it next t Dish A withut watering it. Finally I watered Dish D with the biled water, drpped a small amunt
    f cking il nt the seeds and put it next t Dish C. A few days later, I fund that nly Dish A grew. S I drew a cnclusin that seeds need warmth, water and xygen t grw.
    Lk at the pictures f a plant experiment. The pictures are in the crrect rder. Discuss with partners abut the prcesses the plants g thrugh. Reprt each picture ne by ne:
    Plant three beans in a pt, water them and leave them in a warm, light spt.
    Tw small shts appear.
    Cut the ends ff a plastic bttle.
    Wrap the bttle in dark paper.
    Lay the bttle n its side in the pt and put sme wet paper twel inside. Put ne f the seeds in the centre f the bttle.
    The seed have tw lng shts, ne heading twards the sil and the ther grwing up tward the light.
    I planted three beans in a pt, watered them and left them in a warm light spt. In a week each seed had tw small shts. I cut the ends f a plastic bttle and wrapped it in dark paper. I laid the bttle n its side n the tp f the pt f sil and place a wet piece f paper twel inside.
    I put ne f the seeds in the centre f the bttle. Tw weeks later the seed had tw shts, ne heading twards the sil in the pt and the ther grwing up twards the light.
