▶考点一 Could you please...？的用法 

1)  “Could you please tell me how to get to...?”是问路的常用句式，相当于“Could you please tell me how I can get to...”，译为“你能告诉我怎样去...吗？”

➩ Excuse me, could you please tell me how to get to No.1 Middle School? 

➩ Excuse me, could you please tell me how I can get to No.1 Middle School?  打扰了，你能告诉我怎样去第一中学吗？

【用法必备】

“Could you please do sth....?”译为“请你做某事好吗？”，是表示有礼貌地提出请求的交际用语，后接动词原型。

否定式："Could you (please) not ＋ 动词原形？"，译为“请你(不要)做某事好吗？”

常用答语：

肯定回答：Sure. / Of course. / Certainly. / No, problem.

否定回答：Sorry, I can’t. / Sorry, I’d love to, but I...

➩ Could you please help me carry this big box?  你能帮我搬一下这个大箱子吗？

▶考点二 go along的用法 

go along，意为“沿着...向前走”，多指沿着街道、河边或堤坝等向前走，这是指路的常用语，和go down可以互换。

➩ They went along the road slowly.  他们沿着那条路慢慢地走。

➩ Go along this street, and you’ll find the park at the end of it.  沿着这条路向前走，走到头你就会找到那个公园。

▶考点三 until的用法 

until此处作连词，引导时间状语从句，意为“直到...为止”。当until用于肯定句时，表示“直到”，主句的谓语动词必须是延续性动词；用于否定句时，构成not...until结构，表示“直到...才”，主句的谓语动词用终止性动词。

➩ Let’s wait until the rain stops.  咱们等雨停了吧。

➩ He didn’t arrive until the game had begun.  直到比赛开始他才来到。

▶考点四 beside的用法 

beside介词，意为“在...旁边；在...附近”，相当于next to。

➩ We live in a small village beside a river.  我们住在河边的一个小村庄里。

➩ I don’t know the girl beside Jim.  我不认识吉姆旁边的那个女孩。

➩ He likes tennis besides football.  除了足球以外，他还喜欢网球。

▶考点五 between...and...的用法 

between...and...意为“在...和...之间”，指在两者之间，连接名词和代词。

➩ She lives between the school and the drugstores.  她住在学校和药店之间。

➩ He is sitting between you and me.  他正坐在你我之间。

➩ Don’t eat between meals.  正餐之间不要吃东西。

➩ He sat among the children.  他坐在孩子们中间。

▶考点六 past的用法 

go past意为“路过；经过”，相当于pass。其中past是介词，意为“在另一边；在另一侧”。而pass是动词，意为“经过；走过”。

➩ The bus went past us without stopping at the bus stop.  公共汽车没在站点停留就从我们旁边过去了。

➩ As she passed the library door, the telephone began to ring.  她经过图书室门口时，电话响了。

▶考点七 mean的用法 

mean在此处做动词，表示“意味着；打算”，其也可以做形容词，意为“刻薄的；不友善的”。

➩ Success means working hard.  成功意味着努力工作。

➩ We mean to go hiking tomorrow.  我们打算明天去远足。

➩ He wonders what this means for the future Asian markets.  他想知道这对亚洲市场的未来意味着什么。

➩ She has few friends because she is really mean.  因为为人尖酸刻薄她几乎没有朋友。
