本课是一篇阅读课,以老师在毕业典礼的演讲为主线贯穿整个教学,在本课中本着听说领先,读写跟上的教学原则,设计了听、说、读、写的训练,而各个训练又是为说和写服务的,学生在听、说和读的训练中,通过对听力感知、师生讨论以及一次次写的练习和阅读材料的输入,使学生积累写作输出的素材和思路。所有设计的活动有层次性,尽量使每个学生都有机会表现自己。 | |||||||||

Step 3 Speaking and learning the new words | 1. Teacher shows them a picture of a clock and tells them: Time has gone by so quickly. Ask them to guess the meaning of “go by”. 2. Three years has passed. It’s not a short period. I’m sure you have got a lot of things during this period. (Tell them period means time). What have you got during this period? 3. T: I know you have got knowledge, friendship and experiences. They are very valuable. What other things do you think are valuable? 4. T: They will help you achieve your dream. What or who can help you achieve your dream? 5. T: In our life, sometimes we success, sometimes we fall down. When we fall down, what should we do? Show them the answer. | Ss listen and say. 1. Step 4 Reading about Ms Liu’s speech | 1. Fast reading: What are Ms. Liu and her students doing? A. They are having a sports meeting ceremony (典礼,仪式). B. They are having a class meeting. C. They are having a graduating ceremony. T: You are right. They are having a graduating ceremony. Then show them a picture of it. 2. Detail Reading: T: Now please read the speech again and write T or F. 3. T: Now, let’s read Ms Liu’s speech again. There are four paragraphs in it. Please read it quickly and match with the right ideas with each paragraph.
4. Discussion: While the students check the fourth answer, the teacher shows the key sentence: There is no such thing as true failure. Failure is an opportunity to try something new. Ask the students to say something about it. T: What do you think of this idea? Do you agree? 5. T: Can you guess the meaning “on behalf of”? What do you want to say to your teacher on behalf of all the students? | 1. Students read and answer.
