What I remember most from the kindergarten was meeting Christopher, who was diagnosed with diabetes（糖尿病）at the age of four. Christopher came to our school in the middle of the year. The first time I met him, I felt as if I found my other half. I ran to Mrs Rose and asked if Christopher could sit next to me.
Weeks passed and I realized Christopher was in fact exactly like me. My classmates stayed away from Christopher because he had to get pricked（刺痛）every time he ate sweets like cookies. He also wore a metal medical alert bracelet（警报手链）.
The day before spring break all sorts of candies and desserts were passed out. Mrs. Rose invited all our parents. I ate every sugary sweet I could find and got a couple for Christopher too, but he didn’t touch them. I kept asking him to eat them, but he ran out of the room madly. I sat there shocked and puzzled.
I went home that night with a million questions. My mom told me that Christopher had diabetes and that was the reason why he couldn’t eat as much sugar as everyone else. Maria Callas was born in New York City in 1923. Her parents were Greek. When she was fourteen, she and her mother returned to Greece. Maria studied singing at a national musical university in Athens.
In 1941, when she was eighteen, Maria Callas was paid to sing in a major opera（歌剧） for the first time. She sang the leading roles in several operas in Athens during the next three years.

Volunteering Is Fun
One afternoon I was sitting at home feeling so bored. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I wanted to meet people and have new experiences so I decided to start volunteering. I searched on my computer and found a website where I could volunteer on a farm in France.
My time working on a farm was a new experience for me. It was basically a free holiday as food and accommodation were provided. However, it was not your typical holiday as I had to look after fifteen horses and sleep at the top of a tower in a castle! I was an awful farmer but it did not matter because I made some great friends.
However, you do not need to go abroad to volunteer. I have had plenty of adventures at home as volunteering can become a hobby. For example, I love singing so I had a good laugh waving my arms in an attempt to conduct my local choir（合唱团）. I did slowly improve and it felt great to conduct the choir in a concert. At university, I organised a concert for charity（慈善） with my friends. It was really fun finding bands and raising money for a cause we believe in.
It is true that you feel good volunteering but there are also other advantages. I once volunteered as a server at a charity sports event where the organizers gave me cupcakes to thank me for my services. I also volunteered in a charity shop so I found loads of nice cheap clothes to update my wardrobe（衣柜）.
While this is all fun, my favourite aspect of volunteering is creating and sharing stories. My terrible attempts at farming have given me hilarious stories to tell! Talking to volunteers from different countries and backgrounds has also helped me learn more about the world. I feel thankful to have had so much fun with many nice people thanks to volunteering.

We’re living in a world where we can never stress the important of sharing too much. By sharing, we can often great reduce our sadness and double our happiness.
When it came to this topic, memories flood into my mind. There was a time when I caught in the sadness of not passing an important exam. My world turned gray and I didn’t feel interested in something until my best friend came up to comfort me. Encouraged and moved by his kindness, I shared my trouble with him, that relieved me soon. Little by little I regained my confidence. The followed months witnessed my efforts, and I finally made a great progress in other important exams.
As you can see, which was sharing with my friend that helped me out of that dark time and bring back my confidence. Sharing is beautiful, not only physically but also mentally.

In 1941, when she was eighteen, Maria Callas was paid to sing in a major opera（歌剧） for the first time. She sang the leading roles in several operas in Athens during the next three years.

Volunteering Is Fun
One afternoon I was sitting at home feeling so bored. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I wanted to meet people and have new experiences so I decided to start volunteering. I searched on my computer and found a website where I could volunteer on a farm in France.
My time working on a farm was a new experience for me. It was basically a free holiday as food and accommodation were provided. However, it was not your typical holiday as I had to look after fifteen horses and sleep at the top of a tower in a castle! I was an awful farmer but it did not matter because I made some great friends.
However, you do not need to go abroad to volunteer. I have had plenty of adventures at home as volunteering can become a hobby. For example, I love singing so I had a good laugh waving my arms in an attempt to conduct my local choir（合唱团）. I did slowly improve and it felt great to conduct the choir in a concert. At university, I organised a concert for charity（慈善） with my friends. It was really fun finding bands and raising money for a cause we believe in.
It is true that you feel good volunteering but there are also other advantages. I once volunteered as a server at a charity sports event where the organizers gave me cupcakes to thank me for my services. I also volunteered in a charity shop so I found loads of nice cheap clothes to update my wardrobe（衣柜）.
While this is all fun, my favourite aspect of volunteering is creating and sharing stories. My terrible attempts at farming have given me hilarious stories to tell! Talking to volunteers from different countries and backgrounds has also helped me learn more about the world. I feel thankful to have had so much fun with many nice people thanks to volunteering.

We’re living in a world where we can never stress the important of sharing too much. By sharing, we can often great reduce our sadness and double our happiness.
When it came to this topic, memories flood into my mind. There was a time when I caught in the sadness of not passing an important exam.
