The Present Cntinuus Tense (现在进行时态)
现在进行时态表示现在正在进行着某种事情及动作。
“be (am, is, are )+v- ingv-ing是动词的分词形式，动词be根据主语人称进行变化 。
当句中出现Lk/Listen/nw或有上下文提示时用现在进行时。例如: Lk！Han Mei is singing there！ Listen！Jack is talking. What are yu ding nw？ It is running, nw.
动词现在分词的构成规律
1) 一般情况下，在动词原形后直接加-ing. 如：wrk—wrking (工作) d—ding（做） play—playing（玩）
2) 以不发音的字母e结尾的动词，去掉e，再加-ing. 如： dance—dancing（跳舞） cme—cming（来） (但动词词尾是字母组合ee的,就不能去掉词尾e，而应直接加-ing。例如: see－seeing)
3) 重读闭音节单词，如果末尾只有一个辅音字母，则双写这一字母，再加-ing. 如： get—getting(得到) shp—shpping（购物） run—running（跑） swim—swimming （游泳）

过去进行时表示过去某一时刻或某段时间正在进行的动作。过去进行时由"was / were + 动词-ing形式"构成。
1. 过去进行时的各种句式:
肯定句: 主语+ was / were + 动词-ing形式。如:
否定句:主语+ was / were + nt + 动词-ing形式。如：
I was reading at this time yesterday. 昨天这个时候我正在看书。
I wasn’t reading at this time yesterday. 昨天这个时候我没在看书。
疑问句: (1)一般疑问句: was / were + 主语+ 动词-ing形式。肯定回答: Yes, 主语+ was / were.否定回答: N, 主语+ wasn’t / weren’t. 如：
—Were yu reading at this time yesterday? — 昨天这个时候你在看书吗？— Yes, I was. / N, I wasn’t. — 是的, 我在看。/ 不, 我没在看。
(2)特殊疑问句: 特殊疑问词+ was / were + 主语+ 动词-ing形式？如：
What were yu ding at this time yesterday? 昨天这个时候你在做什么？What was he researching all day last Sunday? 上周日他一整天都在研究什么？
(1)表示过去某一时刻或某一段时间内正在进行的动作, 常与时间状语at that time, at that mment, at this time yesterday, at ten ’clck yesterday等连用。如：
2. 过去进行时的用法基本用法:
Were yu playing basketball at fur yesterday afternn? 昨天下午四点你们在打篮球吗?
(2)表示在过去一段时间内持续进行的动作(有时也可以有间歇)。如：
We were watching TV frm seven t nine last night. 昨天晚上七点到九点的时候我们在看电视。 She was singing frm 7:00 t 7:30 last night. 她昨晚七点至七点半在唱歌。
(1)常用于介绍故事的背景。如:
Once an Arab was traveling in the desert. 从前,有个阿拉伯人在沙漠中旅行。
