23.(8分)D cmpanies need a strng leader t stay cmpetitive? Many wuld say “yes, definitely”, but the emplyees f ne Swedish sftware cnsultancy cmpany wuld tell them therwise. They dn’t have a CEO. Nbdy tells anyne what t d, instead, all the 40 emplyees have meetings and decide tgether.
Crisp has becme wrld famus fr nt having a bss. Hping t get its emplyees mre invlved, it mved n t change its chief executive fficer (CEO) annually, but ultimately, the 40-strng staff decided t scrap the psitin altgether.
Well, it turns ut that nt having a bss, and being invlved in decisin making has made Crisp’s 40 emplyees mre respnsible and mtivated. And even if smene des make a bad call at sme pint, it’s definitely nt the end f the wrld.
Accrding t the BBC, the unique Swedish cmpany is apparently set up mre like a family – nbdy tells anyne what t d, but the unspken understanding is that “yu dn’t mess up the huse”.
Crisp des hld fur-day meetings fr the whle staff tw r three times a year, when they decide n things that affect everyne, like changing their headquarters, but generally, cmpany emplyees are encuraged t make their wn decisins. They als have a cmpany bard, a legal requirement in Sweden, which acts as a last resrt, in case smething ges hrribly wrng.

Besides, dgs’ whiskers (胡须) als help them “see” in the dark because they pick up n very small changes in air, prviding dgs with infrmatin abut the size, shape, and speed f things nearby.
Secret tail cde
Dgs can use their tails t cmmunicate. They wag their tails t the right when they are relaxed r happy, and t the left when nervus r threatened. When they’ re aggressive, the tails will stick straight-up in the air. A brad wag is friendly while a slw wag is neutral, neither excited nr anxius.
Dreams
We ften see a dg’s bdy making sudden mvements in its sleep. Dgs have the same brain wave patterns as humans’ while they are asleep, s they dream just like we d.

25.(10分)It may be cmmn knwledge that what British peple call “ftball” is knwn as “sccer” in the US, and “clur” in British English(BrE) ges withut the “u” in American English (AmE). But accrding t a chart made recently by website Grammar Check, these are far frm being the nly differences between the tw cuntries’ use f English. The chart utlined 63 f the main cntrasts between BrE and AmE, frm the mre well-knwn “lift/elevatr” and “autumn/fall” t the lesser-knwn “garden/yard” and “petrl/gasline”.
Sme f the vcabulary mismatches are s different that tw peple in a cnversatin may fail t understand each ther. Fr example, the tw cuntries have different names fr certain fd. “ Biscuits “ and “sweets” in Britain are knwn as “ckies” and “candy” , respectively, in the US. But while getting fd names mixed up nly causes cnfusin, sme misunderstandings may lead t embarrassment if yu’re nt careful. I f a British man in the US is asked t shw up a party in “pants”, there’s a chance that he might get a lt f stares frm ther guests. “Pants” in the UK means underwear. “Trusers” are what yu need t ask a British friend t wear if yu dn’t want them t cause a scene amng yur friends.
Hwever, even if 63 is already a lt, there are still many differences that the chart failed t cver. If a US girl walks int a UK barber and says “I want t have my bangs fixed”, fr example, it culd take a while befre the hairdresser realizes what she means is actually her “fringe”.

A.get int an embarrassment
B.be attractive amng his friends
C.be puzzled at thers’ dresses
D.ask fr a pair f trusers instead
3、Why is the example in the barber mentined?
A.T cnfirm sme examples are unknwn.
B.T supprt the authr's pinin n the tpic.
C.T indicate the British are slw in understanding.
D.T shw the hairdresser isn’t familiar with “bangs”.
