      第二部分 阅读理解(满分40分)阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
21.(6分) The year 3700, Earth is far t ht fr any human t call it hme. On this planet at least, man is nthing mre than a memry - if there is anything left t remember the"wise man". But what abut ur wisdm -will any f it survive us?
The cnventinal answer is n. Knwledge requires a knwer, and there will be n knwing minds arund then. But if infrmatin survives, perhaps in bks r hard drives, maybe the knwledge isn't quite dead but drmant (休眠), ready t becme alive with the help f ther minds that develp ver time r cme t visit Earth in the distant future.
At first sight, that seems t be reasnable: after all, we have dne similar things with past knwledge. Fr example, we saved an ancient cmputer frm a ship destryed at sea ff the suthern cast f Greece, and succeeded in finding the meaning f Egyptian hierglyphics(象形文字). Careful wrk can bring previusly lst wisdm back t life.
Hwever, the key pint is that there is a certain cultural cntinuity with thse ancient times that allws us t reasn and make prgress in the dark: we knw we are dealing with the legacy (遗赠) f ther humans.
Withut that link, the survival f bjects and raw data desn't guarantee the survival f knwledge. And a lack f cntinuity in language with any future intelligence wuld be a barrier. Knwledge is clsely cnnected with language. When a language dies ut, we can lse systems f reasning that they cntain. If that's lst, then it can't be recvered.
All this means that ther minds might nt be able t fully make human knwledge alive when we are gne. It is better t cncentrate n nt dying ut in the first place.
      1、What is the main purpse f Paragraph 1? ______
      A.T present an interesting idea.
      B.T state a prblem f the future.

22.(8分)There is a breakthrugh in building aircrafts. Bendable wings cvered with verlapping(部分重叠) pieces resembling fish sizes culd be used t build swifter, fuel-efficient aircraft, a new study finds.
Nwadays, cnventinal aircrafts typically rely n ailerns (副翼) t help cntrl the way the planes tip as they fly. Hwever, when the Wright brthers flew the first airplane, Flyer 1, ver a century ag, they used n ailerns but wires and pulleys that twisted the wd-and-canvas wings, t cntrl the plane,
Scientists have lng sught t develp aircrafts that can alter their wings during flight, just as birds can. Hwever, mst previus attempts have failed because they relied n heavy mechanical cntrl structures within the wings. These structures were als cmplex and unreliable, said Neil Gershenfeld, a physicist and directr f the Center fr Bits and Atms at Massachusetts Institute f Technlgy (MIT).
The new wing cnsists f a system f tiny, strng, lightweight mdules. The shape f the wing can be changed unifrmly alng its length using tw small mtrs, which apply a twisting pressure t each wingtip. These wings are cvered in “skins” f verlapping strips f flexible material resembling fish sizes. These strips mve acrss each ther as the wings alter, prviding a smth uter surface, the researchers explained.
Wind-tunnel tests f these wings shwed that they at least matched the aerdynamic prperties f cnventinal wings, at abut ne-tenth the weight. Initial tests using remtely pilted aircrafts made with these wings have shwn great prmise, said Benjamin Jenett, a graduate student at the Center fr Bits and Atms at MIT.
The new mdular structures the scientists develped culd be manufactured quickly in mass quantities and then installed by teams f small rbts. These mdular structures als can be disassembled mre easily, making repairs simpler.
“Still, the first aircraft built using this strategy will nt be a passenger jet, ”Gershenfeld said. “Instead, the technlgy will likely first be tested n unmanned aircraft, leading t drnes (无人机) that can fly fr a lng time, t help deliver internet access r medicine t remte villages and d sme rescue wrks.”
1、Why did mst previus aircrafts fail t fly like birds?
A.The previus wings were cmplicated and weighed a lt.
B.The previus aircraft relied n ailerns t cntrl directins.

      C.Test planes.
      D.Mnitr the villages.
23.(8分) Have yu ever wndered why yu smetimes take an almst immediate liking t a persn yu have just met? We ften get the first impressin f a persn based n the clr f a persn’s skin r the manner in which he r she dressed. Meaning is cnveyed nt nly by wrds r verbal languages but als by nnverbal cmmunicatin systems, such as bdy behavirs.
Nnverbal cmmunicatin is imprtant because we use the actins f thers t learn abut their affective emtinal states .Our emtins are reflected in ur psture, face, and eyes—be it fear, jy, anger, r sadness—s we can express them withut ever saying a wrd .Fr this reasn, mst f us rely heavily n what we learn thrugh ur eyes.
Nnverbal cmmunicatin is significant in human interactin because it is usually respnsible fr the first impressins. Mre imprtantly, thse first messages usually influence the perceptin(感知) f everything else that fllws. Even hw we select friends and sexual partners is grunded in first impressins with nnverbal cmmunicatin.
Nnverbal cmmunicatin is imprtant because it is culture-related. It is based n different beliefs, religins, values and custms in different cultures. When, where, hw, and t whm peple display his r her specific nnverbal behavirs is greatly affected by culture and cntext. Culture determines what the apprpriate nnverbal behavir is. Fr example, feelings f friendship exist everywhere but their expressin varies. It may be apprpriate in sme cuntries fr men t embrace each ther and fr wmen t hld hands; in ther cuntries these displays f affectin may be shcking. Each culture has its wn specific interpretatin n nnverbal cmmunicatin. What is acceptable in ne culture may be cmpletely unacceptable in anther. One culture may determine that snapping fingers t call a waiter is acceptable; anther may cnsider this gesture rude.
1、What is the best title f the passage?
      A.Nnverbal cmmunicatin and first impressin
      B.Nnverbal cmmunicatin is culture-related
      C.Nnverbal and verbal cmmunicatin

A.we can use different ways t express friendship
B.each culture has its wn specific interpretatin n nnverbal cmmunicatin
C.snapping fingers t call a waiter is acceptable
      D.learning a cuntry’s culture is very imprtant.
24.(8分)When we think abut endangered species, we typically think f mammals such as whales, tigers r pandas. But the ver 5, 500 f mammal species n Earth is a relatively pr number—and it pales in cmparisn with bacteria, f which there are at least a millin different species.
Despite their vast numbers, little research has been dne t understand the impact that mdern human practices have n these tiny rganisms(生物), which have an imprtant influence n many aspects f ur lives.
There are als reasns fr cncern ver the way humans are affecting bacterial species, and in many cases we are causing the same type f prblems that affect larger rganisms. Bacterial ppulatin structures are definitely changing, and bacterial species are being transprted t new lcatins. Perhaps sme bacteria are even n their way t extinctin, althugh we dn’t really have enugh infrmatin t be certain yet.
Why shuld we care if bacteria are being spread t new places? Besides the bvius ptential fr spreading diseases t humans, animals and crps, there are als hidden dangers.
Micrrganisms are invisible t the naked eye, s we tend t ignre them and dn’t necessarily appreciate their rle in hw the planet perates. Bacteria are very imprtant t bigechemistry—the cycling f nutritin and ther chemicals thrugh ecsystems. Fr instance, befre humans invented a way t make fertilizer industrially, every single nitrgen(氮)atm in ur prteins and DNA had t be chemically caught by a bacterial cell befre it culd be taken in by plants and then enter the human fd chain. The xygen we breathe is largely made by micrrganisms in the ceans rather than mainly by rainfrests, as is ppsite t cmmn belief.
Our effects n bacteria have the ptential t change these basic bacterial functins. It is vital t gain a better understanding f hw humans are affecting micrrganisms’ distributin, their abundance, and their life-keeping prcesses. Althugh bacteria are invisible, we verlk them at ur wn risk.
1、What can be learned abut the bacteria accrding t the text?

Mre than 1,000 children's apps cllected identifying infrmatin frm kids using tracking sftware whse terms explicitly frbid their use fr children's apps. The researchers als said nearly half the apps fail t always use standard security measures t transmit sensitive data ver the Web, suggesting a vilatin f reasnable datasecurity measures laid ut by COPPA.
Sme f the apps in questin included Disney's “Where's My Water?”, Gamelft's “Minin Rush” and Duling, a language learning app. The findings als suggested that app creatrs that had been fficially recgnized as COPPAcmpliant(遵守) were n better than any f the ther app develpers at prtecting children's privacy.
Disney argued that the study desn't claim t identify any actual vilatins. “Prtecting children's nline privacy is very imprtant t us and we are cnfident that ur practices cmply with the law,” the cmpany said. “We have a sund COPPA cmpliance prgram, and we maintain strict data cllectin and use plicies fr Disney apps created fr children and families.”
Gamelft annunced that children's privacy is f “utmst imprtance” and is investigating the issue. “We have a very strict datacllectin plicy at Gamelft and always make sure that we are cmpliant with prtectin laws,” the cmpany said.
Duling did nt respnd t requests fr cmment.
Althugh Ggle stated that “We are taking the researcher's reprt very seriusly and lking int their findings”, critics f Ggle's app platfrm say the cmpany has prfited greatly frm advances in datatracking technlgy. “Ggle has basically lked the ther way while it was able t generate revenues ff f children's apps,” said Jeffrey Chester, the executive directr f the Center fr Digital Demcracy. “The new, alarming reprt is further evidence that Ggle is thumbing_its_nse_at the nly federal nline privacy law that we have.”
