The hmeless sing abut their childhd, living cnditins, and living experiences at the Mkili Na Pche cultural center. It is a safe space that allws yung peple and children t wash and eat.
      “It really makes me happy when I sing,” said 19-year-ld Mavakala. He has slept n the streets fr years. There are mre than 20,000 hmeless children in Kinshasa. Other teenagers lked n with happiness as Mavakala turned n the recrding equipment at the center in late August.
      Mavakala dreams f bigger gals after having the chance t recrd in a real recrding space. He said, “It stimulates me and I tell myself — ah, life belngs t brave persns.” He added that U. S. rapper Lil Wayne and Cnglese star Fally Ipupa influenced his music.
