【教学过程】
Step 1: 展示现代英语词汇与对应的法语词汇，提问学生是否知道英语中部分词汇源于法语，引起学生对英语词汇来源的好奇，导入语言历史主题。
Step 2: 阅读前引导学生观察文本的标题、时间轴等，并提出以下两个问题，帮助他们从整体上理解文本的结构，从而降低阅读难度。

A timeline. The different parts (e.g. Old English, Middle English) are marked with different clurs.
Step 3: 学生阅读文本，完成表格内容的填写。
Step 4: 通过时间轴拼图游戏，帮助学生内化本节课所学。
引导学生回顾文本内容，将时间轴拆解为“时间节点卡片（标注关键时间节点）”“历史事件卡片（记录对应时间的历史事件）”“语言影响卡片（说明该事件对英语发展的影响）”，完成后将所有卡片打乱混合 。
把学生分成3组，一组学生抽“时间节点卡片”，一组抽“历史事件卡片”，一组抽“语言影响卡片”。
各组围绕抽到的卡片展开讨论，结合课文内容，将“时间卡——事件卡——语言影响卡” 一一对应匹配。
每组选派1名代表，借助匹配好的卡片，向全班复述在该时间节点发生的历史事件及其对英语语言发展的影响。
Step 5: 引导学生阅读项目板块的要求——小组合作，共同准备一场时长2分钟的英语演讲，并作为英语周的活动进行展示。随后教师展示供参考的项目任务清单，并帮助学生理解其中的内容。
Step 6: 学生组建小组，谈论并确定英语演讲的主题。教师可列举若干主题供学生选择，学生也可选择自己感兴趣的主题。
Step 7: 引导各小组学生根据所给出的引导性问题思考英语演讲的具体内容，并列出提纲。教师可根据学情给出例子，供学生参考。以下是有关“中国的数字化生活”的范例。

Step 8: 教师向学生展示“Intrductin–Bdy–Cnclusin”的演讲基本框架，并展示相应范例，供学生参考。以下是有关“中国的数字化生活”的范例。
