New research shws that centuries f breeding (饲养) dgs t meet human appearance expectatins has left them less able t cmmunicate thrugh facial expressins than their wlf ancestrs.

Lng hair and clear hanging lips als hid dgs’ expressins. “In general, the less a dg’s face lks like a wlf’s, the weaker its ability t shw feelings,” says lead authr Elana R. We still dn’t fully understand hw dgs may use thse expressins in ways that are nt the same as thse f wlves. The study pints ut that dgs with limited facial expressin seem t make up fr it by using ther ways t cmmunicate, such as making sunds t share feelings, suggesting the ultimate gal f enhancing friendly interactins between peple and dgs.
12. What des human breeding mean t dgs accrding t Hbkirk?
A. Weakening their ability t lk.B. Limiting their facial expressins.

A. Calling fr.B. Summing up.C. Leading t.D. Ruling ut.
14. What can we infer frm the research findings in paragraph 4?
A. It is easier t read emtins n wlf-like dgs.
B. Fear is the easiest emtin t identify in dgs.
C. Dgs express feelings mre clearly than wlves.
D. Misreading dgs’ expressins is generally harmless.
15. What is the final purpse f the study?
A. T prmte human-dg harmny.
B. T facilitate understanding f dgs’ sunds.
C. T imprve dgs’ ability t use bdy language.
