Duan’s father, Duan Shukun, a prvincial-level inheritr f the craft, learned t tie basic knts at five and mastered the entire prcess by twelve. His mther, Duan Yinkai, is a natinal inheritr. In 1998, the cuple rebuilt their ancestral (祖传的) Puzhen Tie-Dye Wrkshp.
