Last summer,high schl cheerleader and sprt star Aubrey Barnett nticed a cntinuus neck pain.By the start f her senir year in September 2024,the teen frm Mnre,had been fund having Burkitt lymphma. "It's ne f the mst serius cancers (癌症)," says Dr.Jhn Bergsagel. "It can duble in size every 24 hurs."

A new study carried ut in the Netherlands shws that banning (禁止) phnes in schls may be helping students fcus (专注) in class and get a better scial envirnment.The research was dne after January 2024,when Dutch schls started t fllw natinal guidelines banning students frm using smartphnes in class.
The research studied the effects (影响) f the phne ban at 317 high schls and 313 elementary schls.Researchers als held grup talks with teachers,students and parents.In elementary schls,the ban's effect was hardly nticeable,as fewer yunger children have their wn phnes,r dn't usually bring them t schl.But the results were much clearer in high schls,where 75% f schls said students were mre fcused after the ban.59% f high schls said students were mre scial,and 28% said they saw better grades.
Accrding t Alexander Krepel,ne f the study's researchers,the clearest change was in hw students cmmunicated with each ther.Befre the ban,students ften used their phnes during breaks.Nw,he nted,they're "frced t talk".Krepel als mentined that the ban has made schls feel safer,because students can n lnger secretly take and share phts.
