T explre this idea, the team studied 2,945 adults in the UK, aged 42 t 94, wh were fllwed fr mre than 20 years. They cllected health data and bld samples (样本) t see hw the mealtime might relate t health prblems. They fund that as lder adults age, they tend t eat breakfast and dinner at later times, while als narrwing the verall time windw in which they eat each day.
Later breakfast times were strngly related t health prblems such as extreme sadness, lw energy, pr sleep, and truble preparing meals. Peple wh ate later were als mre likely t have ral health prblems. Mst imprtantly, later breakfast was cnnected with a higher risk f death. “ Up until nw, we have had a limited (有限的) insight int hw the mealtime develps later in life and hw this change relates t verall health and lngevity,” said Dashti. “Our findings help fill that gap by shwing that later mealtimes, especially a later breakfast, are tied t bth health challenges and increased death risk in lder adults. Students wh plan t use AI (人工智能) tls t write their cllege admissin essays (文章) shuld think twice: Essays written by AI sund very similar t each ther and lack persnal vice, even when details (细节) like race r gender are included.
Researchers frm the Crnell University cmpared 30,000 cllege applicatin essays written by humans t nes written by eight AI tls. They discvered that AI essays were easy t tell frm actual human writing because they used similar sentence patterns and repeated the same kinds f ideas.
“The admissin essay is a chance fr applicants t ffer insights int wh they are, beynd all the structured infrmatin n the applicatin frm,” said Rene Kizilcec, senir authr f the new study. “AI tls can help students imprve their writing and are likely a gd idea fr weak writers. But asking fr a full article will result in smething that just des nt sund like any real applicant.”
The researchers explained that AI mdels cannt easily cpy a persn’s natural writing style. This makes them undependable fr imprtant writing tasks like cllege applicatins. When AI tls were asked t write frm the view f a specific persn, such as “an Asian wman frm Califrnia”, the results sunded even less human. The essays ften listed persnal details in a flat and predictable way. Surprisingly, the team fund that anther AI prgram culd easily tell the difference between human and AI-written essays. This means universities and clleges culd likely find ut essays written mainly by AI tls.
First authr Jinsk Lee advises high schl students t use their wn ideas t brainstrm and write sme simple essays, and, if allwed, use AI nly t plish (润色) their essays. Applying t cllege can be stressful, but Lee remembers her wn article-writing psitively. “It was a great chance t lk back n my life and my backgrund,” she said. “I think it was the first experience fr me t be really thughtful.”
      12.What is a prblem abut AI-written essays?
      A. They are shrt f a persnal tuch.
      B. They are always ff-tpic.
      C. They use many difficult wrds.
      D. They hardly describe an event in detail.
13.What des the paragraph 4 mainly tell us abut the study?
      A. Its use.B. Its findings.
      C. Its researchers.D. Its backgrund.
14.What des Lee advise high schl students t d?
      A. Use AI tls t imprve their writing.
      B. Turn t AI mdels fr help anytime.
      C. Depend n AI mdels t write essays.
      D. Avid using AI tls fr any writing.
15.Which is the mst suitable title fr the text?
      A. Can AI Influence Students in Cllege Writing?
      B. Shuld Students Use AI Tls fr Cllege Essays?
