Accrding t a new research, cutting ff rhins' hrns (犀牛角) reduces illegal hunting f the animals by nearly 80%. Rhins are hunted fr their hrns, and scientists think there are nw fewer than28,000 rhins left in the wrld.
A team f researchers studied different rhin prtectin methds used in Greater Kruger NatinalPark, Suth Africa, between 2017 and 2023. Abut 25% f Africa's rhin ppulatin lives in GreaterKruger, and the researchers wanted t find ut which methds wrked well.
The prtectin methds they studied included using detectin cameras, tracking dgs, helicpters,and rangers(护林员) t keep an eye ut fr illegal hunters. Mre than 700 illegal hunters were arrested, but the researchers fund that arresti ng the illegal hunters didn't significantly reduce the number f rhins that were killed.

While dehrning rhins can save the animals' lives, anther study discvered that the methd changes their behavir.
