I’d lng frgtten cluds’ magic: My mind was filled with things t d, but watching their slw mvement culd be sthing and reduce my wrries and nervusness. Next, Oliver fcused n the big trees, laughing as their branches shk in the wind. When a small bird jumped n the grass, he ran after it, laughing as thugh it were the funniest thing in the wrld. In that mment, nthing else mattered t him.
His curisity never disappeared, especially when it came t fallen leaves. He hunted fr them, big and small, treating each ne like a treasure. He nly saw them as tls fr play. N screens r tys were needed. Nearby, kids played with their parents, and dg walkers passed by. His mix f real wrds and kid talk didn’t stp him — he just wanted t cnnect, withut judgment, r fear.
The biggest lessn hit me then: live in the mment. He never asked the time, when we’d leave, r what wuld be next. Whether he was running after sticks, petting a dg, r running acrss the grass, he was entirely in the mment. That hur with Oliver reminded me f the wnder we lse as adults, and f many things we can learn frm a child’s simple, unplanned jy.
