“Lnger”and “mre interesting” are cmparative adjectives while “mst helpful” and “tallest” are superlative adjectives.
We use cmparative adjectives with the wrd “than”. We use the wrd “the” befre superlative adjectives.

形容词的比较级与最高级
1. A+be+比较级+than+B “A比B更……”e.g. He is taller than I. 他比我高。 The meeting is mre imprtant than that ne。2. “比较级+and+比较级”表示“越来越……”e.g. clder and clder 越来越冷 mre and mre beautiful 越来越漂亮
比较级用法：用于两个人或物的比较，表示“更……”
翻译句子：天气变得越来越冷了。
The weather is becming clder and clder.
翻译句子：我对英语越来越感兴趣了。
I becme mre and mre interested in English.
3. “ the+比较级，the+比较级” 表示“越……就越……”e.g. the mre, the better 多多益善。The mre careful yu are, the fewer mistakes yu will make.4. Which/Wh +be +比较级, A r B? A和B，哪个/谁更……？e.g. Which is bigger, the sun r the mn?

5. A+be +the 比较级+f the tw +名词复数两个中较为……的是……⭐️ 此时比较级前+the，表示特指。e.g. The taller f the tw bys is my brther.
6. 我们可在比较级前加上a little、much、even等词来表示程度。 (far, still, a bit, a lt等)e.g. China is much larger than Japan.
Tip: 1. 比较双方必须是同类人或事物。e.g. My bag is heavier than hers.2. 比较双方性质相同时，用that或thse代替。e.g. The weather in Beijing is clder than that in Nanjing.
形容词最高级前必须+the1. A+be/动词 +the 最高级+f/ in/ amng +范围e.g. He is the tallest f the three bys. Russia is the largest cuntry in the wrld.2. A+be+ne f +the 最高级+名词复数e.g. She is ne f the best players in the wrld. Shanghai is ne f the biggest cities in China.
最高级用法：用于三者及以上比较，“……中最……的”
3. Which/Wh +be/动词+the 最高级，A, B r C?e.g. Which city is the mst beautiful, Beijing, Shanghai r Nanjing?4. 与序数词连用，表示“在中，第几最” A+be +the 最高级+n. 单数+范围e.g. She is the furth tallest girl in ur class. 她是班里第四高的女生之一。

5. 形容词最高级前面可以用形容词物主代词、指示代词、名词所有格(’s, f)修饰，替代the的位置。e.g. Kate is my best friend. Kate is Daniel’s best friend.
e.g. Daniel is the tallest by in the class.= He is taller than any ther by in the class. （其他任何）= He is taller than the ther bys in the class. （其他任何）（区别） 他比二班的人都高。He is taller than any student in Class 1. （任何）
Tip: 1. 价格(price)只有高低，不能比贵贱。eg. Dad always buys things at a ________ price when there is a big sale.2. 温度(temperature)只有高低，不能比冷暖。eg. It’s winter nw. The temperature becmes lwer and lwer.3. 数量（number) 只有大小，没有多少。
